Ch. 141The Golden Flash

Mukai, Tsunade, and Shisō reached the Iwagakure battlefield, where Minato Namikaze used the Flying Thunder God Technique to annihilate the Iwagakure Explosion Corps. After the victory, Pakura saw hope in Mukai’s ability to lead Sunagakure toward a different future.

  • Tsunade teased Mukai about his schemes and claimed his Chakra Metal mecha as her own before the group set out to support the other battlefield.
  • Minato Namikaze scattered marked kunai across the battlefield and used the Flying Thunder God Technique to attack the Iwagakure formation from every direction.
  • Minato killed Iwagakure ninjas and squad leaders faster than they could coordinate their attacks, causing the Explosion Corps to collapse.
  • Pakura admired Minato’s speed and trusted the reinforced White Phoenix Mecha to protect her against similarly fast opponents.
  • Minato killed the last Iwagakure captain, and Pakura, Konan, and the others recognized that Mukai’s group had also defeated the Third Raikage.

Ch. 142A Speech About the Future

After Sunagakure’s victories secured peace on the Wind and Rain fronts, Mukai opened a large, free Ninja Academy and delivered a speech urging students to use their wishes and science to build a prosperous future. The chapter ended with the students applauding Mukai, clad in his Hierarch Mecha.

  • The alliance shifted fighting elsewhere, and Minato Namikaze took Team Kakashi back to his battlefield while Mukai established a medical support center at Oasis Fortress.
  • Mukai prepared for the Ninja Academy opening, which welcomed Rain Ninja and offered free instruction without aptitude requirements.
  • Wearing the Hierarch Mecha, Mukai told the students that Chakra expressed the wishes in their hearts and urged them to consider what they wanted to achieve.
  • Mukai presented mecha and other technology as tools for protecting people and promised the village would shelter students rather than send them to meaningless sacrifices.
  • The students fell silent, then burst into applause for Mukai.

Ch. 143Production and construction

Mukai explained to Nagato that Madara Uchiha had implanted the Rinnegan in him and offered him a role in rebuilding the Land of Rain and the Land of Wind. He then brought Konan to the mountain range between the two countries and prepared to use her Explosive Tags to reshape the region.

  • Tsunade greeted Mukai when he returned to the surface, and Nagato thanked him for avenging Yahiko and asked to serve under him.
  • Mukai told Nagato that Madara Uchiha was the Rinnegan’s true owner and had intended to use Nagato’s Rinne Rebirth to revive himself.
  • Mukai offered Nagato a custom mecha and the choice between fighting on the front lines or helping build up the two nations; Nagato chose to stay with Mukai and hoped he could someday revive Yahiko.
  • Mukai left the Oasis Fortress with Konan and explained that he wanted to address the floods and droughts caused by the mountain range separating the Land of Rain and the Land of Wind.
  • Konan demonstrated how she could create ordinary, enhanced, and Mutually Multiplying Explosive Tags, and Mukai said they would use them to blast open the mountains.

Ch. 144Changing the World (1)

Mukai, Konan, and Shukaku carved a river channel through the border mountains and brought Rain’s water into the Land of Wind. Mukai then led a new effort to drive rain clouds over the desert, ending as his Hierarch Mecha accelerated toward them.

  • Mukai had Shukaku draw sand from cracks in a mountain, and Konan filled the gaps with Explosive Tags before detonating them and blasting the mountain apart.
  • Mukai, Konan, and Shukaku spent five days excavating a river channel along the border between the Land of Wind and the Land of Rain.
  • Pakura and the Gold Dust Brigade reinforced the channels, and Water Release ninjas diverted Rain’s water into them as construction of the main channel and branches took half a year.
  • Mukai and Konan blasted open the border mountains, allowing several rains to fall on the Land of Wind, though Mukai said more was needed.
  • Mukai gathered two hundred Wind Release ninjas in the Land of Rain, and they launched into the air to drive rain clouds toward the desert.
  • Mukai summoned Shukaku to blast the clouds with a Super-Large Drilling Air Bullet, then accelerated his Hierarch Mecha toward them.

Ch. 145Remaking the World (2)

Mukai and his allies diverted Amegakure’s rain clouds into the Land of Wind, bringing rain to Sunagakure for the first time in years. On the Land of Rice Fields battlefield, the A-B Combo routed Konoha’s vanguard, and Fourth Raikage A charged toward Danzo.

  • Mukai, Shukaku, and the Wind Release team set the rain cloud over Amegakure in motion and guided it toward the Land of Wind.
  • Konan detonated Mutually Multiplying Explosive Tags and a hydrogen balloon, creating a wind corridor that carried rain clouds and water vapor into the desert.
  • Chiyo and Ebizo realized Mukai’s Heavenly River Project had brought rain to Sunagakure, where the villagers celebrated.
  • Danzo led Konoha’s forces in a frontal assault on Kumogakure, hoping to defeat or capture A and Killer B for prestige.
  • A and Killer B broke through Konoha’s disorganized vanguard, and A charged toward Danzo.

Ch. 146Eight-Tails

Danzo fled after trapping A and Konoha ninja with the One Light Seal, while Killer B transformed into the Eight-Tails and overwhelmed the Konoha forces. Just as Killer B was about to attack the survivors, Jiraiya arrived with Gamabunta, but Killer B quickly threw the toad off and charged at them.

  • Danzo used the One Light Seal to immobilize A, three Senju Clan ninja, and two Root ninja, then fled toward Konoha's main camp.
  • A ordered Killer B to use Tailed Beast Transformation, and Shikaku Nara, Inoichi Yamanaka, and Chōza tried to stop him.
  • Killer B's Eight-Tails transformation broke Shikaku's Shadow Imitation Technique and defeated the Konoha ninja around him.
  • Chōza enlarged himself to shield Shikaku, but Killer B's Lariat: Burst sent him flying and pierced his belly with a horn.
  • Jiraiya summoned Gamabunta, who landed on Killer B, but Killer B threw him off and threatened to kill him.

Ch. 147Flying Thunder God: Guiding Thunder

Minato Namikaze lured A away while Jiraiya and Gamabunta fought Killer B, who prepared to fire a Tailed Beast Bomb. Minato redirected the bomb toward A, leaving Killer B rushing to the explosion site and A's fate unknown.

  • Minato Namikaze used Flying Thunder God to evade A's attacks, but his Kunai could not pierce A's Lightning Release Armor.
  • Jiraiya and Gamabunta fought Killer B, whose Tailed Beast Chakra cloak let him withstand their attacks.
  • Jiraiya and Gamabunta used Combination Ninjutsu: Toad Oil Flame Bullet, forcing Killer B to dodge the fire.
  • Killer B gathered Chakra to form a Tailed Beast Bomb, and Gamaken prepared to shield the others with his rice bowl.
  • Minato Namikaze appeared between Killer B and Gamaken, used Flying Thunder God: Guiding Thunder to teleport the bomb away, and sent it toward A.
  • A blocked the incoming Tailed Beast Bomb as it exploded, and Killer B rushed toward the blast site.

Ch. 148Strategic Shift

Killer B’s Tailed Beast Bomb nearly killed A, but Minato Namikaze redirected it and saved him. At the Kumogakure camp, the Third Raikage revealed that Sunagakure’s new, tracking annihilation technique had grievously wounded him and urged A to focus their forces on Konoha instead.

  • Killer B found A alive in a hollow after the Tailed Beast Bomb exploded, and A explained how he had survived behind a barrier of earth and rocks.
  • Killer B ordered a retreat to the main camp while Minato Namikaze credited Mukai and Konan with helping him develop Flying Thunder God: Guiding Thunder.
  • Minato Namikaze told Jiraiya that Mukai’s Puppet Mecha had used a technique on par with Dust Release, badly wounding the Third Raikage.
  • A returned to the Kumogakure camp, learned that his father was gravely injured, and reported that Killer B was safe and more than three hundred ninja had been lost.
  • The Third Raikage described Sunagakure’s invisible, tracking annihilation technique and warned A that Sunagakure was no longer weak, advising him to concentrate their forces against Konoha.
  • A asked his father what they should do about Ōnoki’s Iwagakure.

Ch. 149The Land of Grass Battlefield

Orochimaru led Konoha against Iwagakure, using Sunagakure-supplied weapons to break through their defenses and devastate their formation. He summoned Manda and threatened him with a destructive weapon, demanding his submission.

  • The Third Raikage ordered a spy to infiltrate Sunagakure and investigate its terrifying weapon, then planned a renewed attack on Konoha after recovering.
  • Orochimaru sent orphans and wounded to the Land of Rain, then led Konoha's forces out to meet Iwagakure's attack.
  • Konoha's Explosive Tag kunai devastated Iwagakure's vanguard, and special Fūma Shuriken shattered the enemy's Earth Style Walls.
  • Orochimaru summoned Manda and demonstrated a lightning weapon that erased a large area of the Iwagakure position.
  • Orochimaru threatened Manda with Mutually Multiplying Explosive Tags and demanded that he submit or be destroyed.

Ch. 150Manda Knows When to Yield

Orochimaru and Manda fought Han, the Five-Tails Jinchūriki, and used a seven-chain Mutually Multiplying Explosive Tag to bring him down. As Konoha celebrated, Ōnoki appeared above the battlefield and unleashed Dust Release.

  • Manda submitted to Orochimaru after seeing the power of his Explosive Tag, then charged into the Iwagakure position with him.
  • Han broke through Konoha’s defenses and attacked Manda, while Orochimaru supported the giant snake and helped him withstand Han’s blows.
  • Orochimaru and Manda exploited a brief opening to bind Han with snakes and attach an Explosive Tag to him.
  • The seven-chain Explosive Tag detonated repeatedly, and Han collapsed despite attempting Tailed Beast Transformation.
  • Ōnoki appeared in the sky and formed a cube to use Dust Release: Detachment of the Primitive World Technique.

Ch. 151Return

Orochimaru survived Ōnoki’s Dust Release attack and forced the Iwagakure troops to retreat, though he called for reinforcements as Iwagakure and Kumogakure’s strongest fighters entered the battle. In the Land of Rain, Konan revisited the cave she had shared with Jiraiya, Yahiko, and Nagato, then found comfort in Mukai and the changes he had brought.

  • Orochimaru saved Manda with Reverse Summoning and escaped Ōnoki’s Dust Release using his Substitution Technique.
  • Ōnoki ordered the Iwagakure troops to retreat after Han was injured and the attack failed.
  • Orochimaru admitted he had only bluffed and sent a messenger to request support from Konoha.
  • Konan took Mukai to the hidden cave where she, Yahiko, and Nagato had lived with Jiraiya, and recalled their return boards and childhood hardships.
  • Mukai comforted Konan and promised the Land of Rain would continue to improve, and she told him she loved him.
  • Konan and Mukai left the cave with Yahiko’s board turned to its red return side, while a mass of light in Mukai’s sea of consciousness linked to a computing node.

Ch. 152Bitter Rain, Sweet Spring

Mukai and Konan saw how their reforms had transformed Bitter Rain Settlement into a thriving, secure village, which the villagers renamed Sweet Spring Village. The chapter left Mukai considering Konoha’s request for military assistance against Ōnoki and asking what terms Hiruzen Sarutobi would offer.

  • Satō watched Iron Ox Mecha improve the fields and heard how new irrigation and rapid repairs had made village life safer and more productive.
  • Satō learned that Mukai’s forces had cleared the Land of Rain of bandits and wandering ninjas, while taxes fell and harvests increased under the new system.
  • Mukai and Konan inspected the ripening rice fields and cleared the rain clouds ahead of the harvest.
  • The villagers welcomed Mukai and Konan, and Mukai agreed to rename Bitter Rain Settlement Sweet Spring Village.
  • Komushi told Mukai that Konoha had requested help because Ōnoki was suppressing its ninja army, and Mukai asked what assistance Hiruzen Sarutobi would offer in return.

Ch. 153Three Conditions

Mukai sent Konoha three demands: access to the Scroll of Seals, clan youths sent to Sunagakure, and punishment for Shimura Danzō. Facing pressure on several fronts, Hiruzen Sarutobi rejected handing Danzō over or executing him and proposed concessions on the other demands while imprisoning Danzō indefinitely.

  • Mukai told Komushi to pass Sunagakure's three conditions to Konoha through Elder Chiyo, including access to the Scroll of Seals, two youths from each clan, and punishment for Shimura Danzō.
  • Hiruzen Sarutobi reviewed the conditions with Mitokado Homura and Utatane Koharu and warned that Konoha's fronts could collapse without Sunagakure's support.
  • Utatane Koharu demanded that Konoha fight rather than accept humiliation, while Mitokado Homura argued that Danzō should not be handed to outsiders.
  • Hiruzen Sarutobi refused to hand Danzō over or execute him, saying Konoha needed unity and had to protect him.
  • Hiruzen Sarutobi proposed allowing Mukai to inspect the Scroll of Seals under supervision and sending two members from each ninja clan to study in Sunagakure.
  • Hiruzen Sarutobi proposed announcing Danzō's resignation and imprisoning him indefinitely in Konoha's most heavily guarded forbidden area.

Ch. 154The War God Mecha's Three Forms

Mukai demonstrated the War God Mecha to Chiyo, showing its fighter, Viking, and heavy assault robot forms and their weapons and capabilities. He then flew into its cockpit, declaring that its complete form required the two of them to combine.

  • Mukai told Chiyo that Konoha had agreed to Sunagakure’s conditions and said he would go to Konoha himself.
  • Mukai revealed the War God Mecha, built with Sasori using Chakra Metal and bionic variable-structure engineering, and explained its energy systems.
  • The mecha demonstrated its fighter form, flying at extreme speed and firing an electromagnetic cannon at distant dunes.
  • The mecha transformed into Viking form, hovered and strafed the ground with its arm-mounted electromagnetic cannons.
  • The mecha shifted into a thirteen-meter-tall robot form and demonstrated its mobility, close-combat movements, and laser weapon.
  • Mukai flew into the mecha’s cockpit and said that the two of them together would achieve its complete form.

Ch. 155Respect

Mukai demonstrated the War God Mecha before traveling to Konoha to inspect the Scroll of Seals under the alliance agreement. After he finished, an urgent report revealed that the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist had broken through the Uchiha line and threatened hundreds of Genin.

  • Mukai demonstrated the War God Mecha's Ninjutsu and basic techniques to Elder Chiyo, then asked her to oversee the squad's training and the Ninja Academy while he was away.
  • Mukai arrived at Konoha and confronted Utatane Koharu when she objected to him seeing the Scroll of Seals.
  • Hiruzen Sarutobi honored the alliance agreement and let Mukai inspect the Scroll of Seals in the Hokage Building.
  • Mukai quickly finished inspecting the scroll, asked Hiruzen to send clan youths to Tsunade's post, and offered supplies and support for the Land of Grass battlefield.
  • An Anbu ninja reported that Kirigakure's Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist had broken through the Uchiha defense line and threatened the Genin in the rear, prompting Hiruzen to order immediate reinforcements.

Ch. 156The Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist

Mukai volunteered to support Konoha, while the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist cornered Might Guy and four other Genin. Guy used the Seven Heavens Breathing Method and the Eight Gates to fight back, but the swordsmen overwhelmed him before a green-clad figure appeared and asked if he was all right.

  • Mukai offered Hiruzen Sarutobi support and told him to escort the exchange students to Tsunade instead of assigning him Genin.
  • The Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist surrounded five Konoha Genin, including Ebisu and Might Guy, and attacked them to draw in Konoha reinforcements.
  • Guy activated the second stage of the Seven Heavens Breathing Method and opened the third gate, then used Shisō's Iron Mountain Lean to fight the swordsmen.
  • Guy opened the fourth gate and briefly suppressed several swordsmen, but their teamwork and weapons overcame him, leaving him badly wounded.
  • A green-clad figure appeared in front of Guy, who recognized him as his father.

Ch. 157No Need for a Sacrificial Death

Mukai arrived just as Might Duy prepared to open the Gate of Death against the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist, and ordered him to stop sacrificing himself. Mukai gave the swordsmen ten seconds to surrender, repelled their attacks, absorbed Raiga Kurosuki’s lightning, and faced their coordinated assault.

  • Might Duy stood between the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist and his injured son Guy, preparing to open the Gate of Death.
  • Mukai descended and used an invisible force to stop Might Duy, then warned him that the Eight Gates Released Formation could be combined with the Seven Heavens Breathing Method.
  • Mukai knocked Munashi Jinpachi away and summoned a huge metal construct, then gave the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist ten seconds to surrender.
  • Jinin Akebino’s Kabutowari bounced off Mukai’s force field, and Mukai hurled Juzo Biwa into a tree.
  • Raiga Kurosuki’s lightning attack vanished into Mukai’s hand, and Mukai absorbed its energy.
  • Suikazan Fuguki ordered the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist to attack together, and their weapons and Ninjutsu engulfed Mukai and the metal construct.

Ch. 158Seven Kills

Mukai used the War God Mecha to defeat the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist and claimed the Samehada. He then set off in fighter mode to visit an old friend known to the Samehada.

  • Mukai used the mecha’s repulsive force to block the Seven Ninja Swordsmen’s attacks, then killed Kushimaru Kuriarare with its electromagnetic cannon.
  • The mecha shattered Juzo Biwa’s Kubikiribōchō and badly wounded him, then killed Munashi Jinpachi and Raiga Kurosuki with airbursting supercapacitor projectiles.
  • Mukai crushed Jinin Akebino with an overhand punch and discovered that the Suikazan Fuguki on the battlefield was a Water Clone.
  • Mukai pursued the original Suikazan Fuguki in half-fighter mode and killed him with a high-speed flyby, wiping out the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist.
  • Mukai took the Samehada, asked Might Duy, Might Guy, and Ebisu to gather the weapons and evidence, and flew off to see an old friend.

Ch. 159Kisame Hoshigaki Joins

Mukai confronted Kisame Hoshigaki and offered him a chance to abandon Kirigakure’s corrupt shinobi system for a new future. Kisame joined Mukai, who returned Samehada to him and spared the other Mist Ninja.

  • Mukai arrived with the War God Mecha and confronted Kisame Hoshigaki and his Mist Ninja escort.
  • Mukai revealed Samehada and the other six Ninja Blades, then accused Suikazan Fuguki of betraying Kirigakure and abandoning his men.
  • Mukai challenged Kisame’s beliefs about missions and village loyalty, describing his ambition to build a more peaceful and prosperous world.
  • Kisame questioned Mukai’s motives but chose to join him and serve his ambition.
  • Mukai gave Samehada back to Kisame, called for Miru, and told the other Kirigakure ninja that their lives were safe for now.

Ch. 160The Upheaval in the Uchiha Clan

Mukai captured Miru and flew off in the War God Mecha to find Isobu, while Shisui Uchiha arrived at the devastated battlefield where Mukai had defeated the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist. Shisui ordered the survivors to keep the encounter secret, then revealed that Uchiha with Three-Tomoe Sharingan had been attacked and their eyes stolen, with evidence pointing away from Kirigakure.

  • Mukai used the War God Mecha's cannon to intimidate the Kirigakure ninja, took Miru prisoner, and departed with Kisame Hoshigaki to find Isobu.
  • Shisui Uchiha led an Uchiha rapid-response team to the ruined battlefield and found Guy and the surviving Konoha Genin.
  • Guy and Ebisu told Shisui that Mukai had arrived alone with an iron giant and killed the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist.
  • Shisui examined the wreckage, ordered the wounded treated and unusual residue collected, and classified the battle as top secret.
  • Shisui told Guy that elite Uchiha with Three-Tomoe Sharingan had been attacked and their eyes gouged out, and that evidence indicated Kirigakure was not responsible.
