Xiao Yan darted and dodged among the ruins of the arena. Yan's attacks were fierce and powerful, and he was no slouch in speed either, yet he could never catch up with Xiao Yan.
Yan Xiao called the move Xiao Yan had recalled while fighting the Flame Light Bird "Blast Step." It was a simple movement Dou Technique-Yan Xiao had said that these techniques were all called Dou Techniques, possibly because of the world they had once come from. With Blast Step, Xiao Yan's mobility far surpassed that of an ordinary One-Ring Soul Master, allowing him to kite Yan around now.
This kid really is a little strange. Could that bizarre speed be a Self-Created Soul Skill? Yan thought. Even so, he didn't believe he would lose to this greenhorn. It was time to get serious.
"First Soul Skill, Magma Hell Charge!" Yan shouted. Magma covered his body, radiating an unimaginably scorching heat as he charged at Xiao Yan like an enraged bull.
"Xiao Yan, be careful. This guy's Soul Power is far stronger than yours," Yan Xiao warned. But Xiao Yan stopped in his tracks and began gathering strength. Cyan flames sprang to life out of thin air, enveloping his fist. Then he let out a shout and threw a seemingly ordinary punch.
"Kid, confidence is a good thing, but don't get cocky." Yan swung his fist as well, concentrating all his strength and the power of the magma in his left fist before meeting Xiao Yan's punch head-on.
Boom!
In a flash, magma and cyan fire intertwined and burst apart, unleashing a powerful storm. Xiao Yan's frail body shot backward, barely coming to a stop more than ten meters away. Yan fared slightly better, but he too was sent flying over five meters. His left arm was also covered in wounds, inflicted by the hidden force of Eight Extremes Collapse.
"Kid, again!" Yan spat out a mouthful of bloody spittle and grinned. Then the purple Soul Ring on his body suddenly shone with a dazzling light, and powerful black flames burst forth, raging through the mortal world like fire from hell. "Third Soul Skill, Hell Flame!" With that, the flames poured out and surged toward Xiao Yan, who lay on the ground.
Yan was somewhat puzzled. His Soul Power and strength were clearly greater than Xiao Yan's, yet in their clash just now, he had actually been at a slight disadvantage. Although he had been driven back far fewer steps, his injuries were clearly more severe. The scorching magma he took such pride in seemed to lose eighty percent of its power upon touching Xiao Yan's cyan fire, and Xiao Yan's bizarre Self-Created Soul Skill, combined with the cyan fire, had pierced straight through his magma defense and struck his left arm. But those questions were clearly no longer important, because everyone then saw Yan's Hell Flame stop before it reached Xiao Yan, withdraw all its light and heat, and submit to him.
Xiao Yan slowly got to his feet and wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth. Grinning, he said, "Brother Yan, amazing, isn't it?" With that, the cyan flames around him gathered into a mass, and the Hell Flame at his feet bowed before it, like a subject pledging loyalty to a king. Yan realized in horror that he had lost control of Hell Flame; his flames now belonged to Xiao Yan.
"Brother Yan, let's decide the winner with one strike." Xiao Yan looked at Yan. The Hell Flame at his feet gradually fused with his Green Lotus Core Flame, slowly taking on a stable shape and condensing in his hand. The flames resembled a lotus, displaying a beauty all their own.
"Although I don't remember, I keep feeling that this move will have a truly terrifying effect..." Xiao Yan said softly. "Fortunately, my Soul Power is far below yours, and this Hell Flame isn't a particularly powerful flame either. Only because of that do I dare use this move against you, Brother Yan. Please enlighten me!"
With that, Xiao Yan shot forward and thrust the Fire Lotus in his hand toward Yan. "That's the spirit, kid! You think I'm afraid of you?" All three of Yan's Soul Rings lit up as he unleashed his three Soul Skills at once, his momentum no less imposing than Xiao Yan's. He too shot forward, swinging a fist that had turned to granite.
Boom!
An explosion rang out. Then smoke swirled, and not a sound could be heard.
