The brilliant blue Space Channel kept expanding. It was already the size of a person, and Claire felt that in less than a minute, it would be fully established.
At the same time, Claire kept scanning the surroundings. Just as she had threatened the Archmage earlier, she was genuinely worried that the City Guard might arrive ahead of time. With something this conspicuous glowing here, they definitely would not leave just because of a few words from her. Besides, the commotion from her fight with the Archmage had not been small. The City Guards drawn by the noise were probably no ordinary people, and with her current influence in the royal capital, she had no way to drive them off.
Fortunately, after casting several Scrying Spells, Claire found no signs of anyone approaching. The Space Channel was nearly complete now. As long as she dealt with Martin, everything afterward would be easy.

On the other side of the Space Channel, Martin had already used all his strength. Holding the Great Light Orb high in both hands, he relentlessly smashed it against the table before him. When the table broke, he simply sat cross-legged on the floor and continued smashing.
Yet the light orb remained relatively stable, and the Space Channel before Martin showed not the slightest change.
After hammering away for a while, Martin finally gave up. He tossed the Great Light Orb onto the floor, and it rolled down the slope beneath the broken table.
Martin sat dejectedly amid the filth and mess. He had started regretting everything. Why had he been so greedy? Wouldn't it have been nice to keep being a bootlicker and trade Cultivation Methods with her? At least he would not have ended up like this.
There was no escaping now. Was
