"Good morning, Big Brother!" Melly skipped out of the Baronial Manor with her schoolbag on her back.
Only then did Claire absentmindedly shift her gaze away from the Magic Book before her and look at Melly. Ever since school had started, Melly had been boarding there, so Claire had not seen her in quite some time.
She smiled. "School's out?"
Melly ran to Claire's side and nodded vigorously. "Mm! It's the weekend, so school is out!"
Claire sat up from the reclining chair as well and rubbed Melly's little head, messing up her hair.
"So, what did you learn at school?"
Melly broke free from Claire's clutches and shook her head like a kitten whose fur had gotten wet, then used both hands to fix her hair.
"I learned so much! I can do addition and subtraction now!" Melly puffed out her chest proudly.
"Then let me test you with a question!"
"Go ahead! Melly will definitely know the answer!" Confidence sparkled in Melly's eyes.
"If you have three apples, but there are four children standing in front of you, how would you divide them so that none of them resent you?"
"Hiss!" Melly bit her finger, her face full of confusion. This had already gone beyond the scope of her knowledge.
"Is that multiplication and division? Teacher said she'll teach that next week! Melly doesn't know it yet. Big Brother, tell me the answer."
Claire closed the Magic Book. "If it were me, I'd eat two apples, then take out the one remaining apple and tell them: whoever wins the fight gets this apple!"
