Huang Ningxue is the Royal Family's eldest daughter and Huang Qi's cousin. She has known Bai Zhou since he was an infant and is familiar with his childhood, though she regards his later transformation as surprising. 258 282

Although publicly framed as Huang Qi's devoted sister, she regarded him as an incompetent obstacle to her own succession. Royal Family rules required a male heir, but Huang Ningxue intended to eliminate Huang Qi and claim the family-head position herself. 269
