Yang Jian was panting heavily. Wang Xiaoming's office was on the twenty-fourth floor, the topmost floor.
He had taken the stairs the whole way, running and jumping all the while. Any normal person would have collapsed from exhaustion.
He had kept up with exercise during his school years, so his stamina was fairly decent, yet his legs still felt like they were about to break.
When I get back, I need to work out properly. Ghost Tamers may be special, but underneath it all, they're still ordinary people. I can't expect to rely on ghostly power for every strenuous task. That would waste too much of my life. I still need to keep up when physical strength is required. I can't be this useless. Yang Jian thought.

He could not hear even the faintest sound of footsteps coming from below.

If things remained this way for another five minutes, Yang Jian could conclude that Wang Xiaoming had run into danger again. Most likely, they had gotten lost on one of the floors or encountered a ghost.
