Yang Jian compared the paintings hanging in this room with everything that had just happened and discovered some secrets about them.
Every painting actually corresponded to a ghost, and likewise to a scene within the Ghost Painting world. Once you arrived at the place depicted in a painting, there was a high chance you would encounter the vicious ghost wandering there. More importantly, the scenery in the painting did not remain the same forever.
The content of the paintings continuously changed according to what was actually happening.
For example, the painting behind Yang Jian depicted a ghost sitting on the sofa in a room. But now that ghost had been controlled by Li Yang, so it had disappeared from the painting as well.
But Yang Jian's gaze was now fixed on the painting before him.
It depicted a seven-story building.
At the entrance on the first floor stood a strange woman. Her features were blurred, and she stood motionless in the doorway, as though she had become part of the painting's background.
Yet to Yang Jian, that scene was especially terrifying.
If the scene in the painting was, as he suspected, a real place within the Ghost Painting world, then the ghost was currently standing downstairs from the building he was in.
When did this ghost appear? I had already checked the surroundings when I came upstairs. There was absolutely no ghost nearby. Or did the environment change when I reached the third floor, and the ghost from the Ghost Painting world had already arrived? Was that environmental change merely a warning that danger was approaching?
Wait, something isn't right. The ghost downstairs is itself part of the Ghost Painting. It can't count as the ghost in this painting. Based on what happened before, every painting should contain another ghost.
