Yang Jian had forcibly kept Li Yang and Jimmy behind to determine which of the three of them the pursuing ghost had targeted.
This was not the time to play hero. Someone had to pay the price. It was clearly impossible to leave the Ghost Painting Incident alive and unscathed, because the ghost would not stop until its target was dead.
Up to now, Yang Jian had never seen a ghost voluntarily abandon its target. No matter what, they would have to endure at least one attack from the ghost.
That attack would be the most dangerous. An ordinary person would undoubtedly die, but a Ghost Tamer might not. As long as they could withstand it, they could survive.
"It's coming."
Yang Jian's expression hardened.
The ghost standing in the middle of the road in the distance, its facial features blurred beyond recognition, was already walking toward the three of them. Its way of walking was bizarre. Its movements were clearly slow, yet the distance between it and them was rapidly closing, as if a camera lens were constantly zooming in, and they had no control over that distance at all.
Everyone could only passively wait for the ghost to arrive.
"Mr. Yang, are those footsteps?" Li Yang, who was standing by the roadside, suddenly looked at Yang Jian in horror.
He asked the question, but his unease was unmistakable.
As a survivor who had lived here for several months, he had encountered ghosts at close range several times. Every time this ghost appeared, it had been completely silent. But this time was different. Terrifying yet strange footsteps had appeared beneath the ghost's feet. Those footsteps were not unfamiliar.
He had heard them before on the wooden staircase inside that building. They belonged to another unknown supernatural entity.
