Li Yan pondered inwardly. At this moment, he suddenly understood the Great Dao of the so-called "Heavenly Dao rules" that he had long comprehended from others' teachings.
To Li Yan, he had always known in his heart that such a thing existed, and he had once tried to contemplate it seriously.
But where were these "Heavenly Dao rules," and what exactly were they? His previous understanding was that they were some vast, inviolable force of heaven and earth.
Like the "law of time"—no one could defy it. His two senior brothers had struggled bitterly, yet they still could not overcome time's erosion and ultimately perished.
After learning of the Flame Soul Devouring Nightmare Beast today, Li Yan realized that there were flaws even within the Heavenly Dao's cycle of reincarnation. In a flash of enlightenment, he understood some of the true meaning behind heaven and earth's endless cycle.
The law of time can actually be defied as well. People age and die through the years; seas turn into mulberry fields with the passage of time.
Those seemingly irreversible laws of the Heavenly Dao exist only because my cultivation is too weak. I cannot even bring myself to resist them, so I can only think of how to borrow strength from them.
But if one truly cultivates to the Mahayana Realm, or even the higher True Immortal Realm, one can live forever without dying. What meaning would the law of time still have then?
With one turn of the hand, clouds rise; with another, rain falls. Heaven and earth can be remade, suns and moons created. The so-called changing seas and mulberry fields could be restored to whatever form one desired in a single thought!
*Just as Buddhism speaks of the "six paths of reincarnation," cultivation in the end is meant
