After seven more hours had passed, only Elder Liu and Deacon Li remained in the stone chamber hall. Not a single disciple had appeared there.
Inside his stone chamber, Li Yan was studying the twenty-odd medicinal herbs suspended in the air. More than a day had passed, yet he had identified and collected only twenty-three herbs.
As for whether his identifications were correct, that would have to wait until he finally went out and Elder Liu and the others checked them.
From Li Yan's perspective, however, since he had put those herbs into his storage ring, he was generally about eighty percent confident.
After studying the twenty-odd herbs ahead of him for a little longer, Li Yan closed his eyes again.
Twenty-three herbs is my limit. Of the remaining herbs, there are three I have no more than a forty percent chance of identifying successfully.
For the rest, I'm only ten or twenty percent confident. Some would simply be blind guesses. This is as far as my actual ability goes...
Li Yan pondered this inwardly. He had originally only wanted to test his true ability, and now it seemed he could not identify even half of the fifty herbs.
There might even be mistakes among the twenty-three he had collected, lowering the assessment of his actual ability yet again.
For the time remaining, he would have to resort to other methods...
Li Yan was fairly certain that even with those other methods, his confidence in successfully identifying them would only rise to sixty or seventy percent.
Still, that was already a substantial improvement in his chances.
When preparing for the spirit alchemist ranking assessment, he had not merely studied the foundational pharmacopoeia. He had also read extensively through all manner of medicinal herb texts.
While reading those texts, Li Yan
