Only after Ji Xun realized that he too was an Awakened One did he understand why Princess Sophia had seemed somewhat familiar to him before.

It seemed that their souls knew each other in some higher-dimensional world.

In midair above the ruins, Evil Dragon Malodis and Cole, the "Ghost Crow Sorcerer" who had transformed into a giant raven, fought with earth-shattering intensity.

Forbidden elemental spells and dragon breath collided head-on, unleashing wave after wave of elemental shockwaves.

This was already a battle at the pinnacle of this world.

A realm beyond Legendary.

Ji Xun watched in constant amazement.

For a Great Knight like him, this should have been the supreme realm he pursued his entire life.

Yet for some reason, after killing that Legendary Assassin earlier, he suddenly felt that this man and dragon were merely... that.

They were powerful as expected, not incomprehensibly powerful.

Sophia had originally intended to leave amid the chaos, but after hearing Ji Xun say he could understand the Black Magic Runes in these ruins, the two quietly made their way back toward the massive pyramid.

Fortunately, Evil Dragon Malodis was drawing all the fire above them, allowing the two to reach the rune-covered black stones without trouble.

It now seemed that these ruins were the Tower of Ascension built three thousand years ago by the Black Mage named Nan Shenyu.

Ji Xun was also very curious about what those Awakened Ones of the past had discovered.

Could this pyramid truly lead one to godhood?

The two circled around to the side of the pyramid facing away from the battle.

Although Ji Xun could understand the runes, they were too complex and too numerous. His mind struggled to process such an overwhelming amount
