Background

The Asura God is one of the Divine Realm's five great God Kings and its righteous killing god. He represents justice through slaughter, commands all slaughter in the world, and serves as a Divine Realm enforcer 217 239. His offensive power is regarded as the greatest among the five God Kings 235.

He resides in the cloud-bound Asura Temple, where pervasive killing intent can erode visitors' sanity and turn them into slaughtering puppets. The temple houses the blood-black Asura Demon Sword, his super divine artifact 223 231.

On Douluo Continent, he established Slaughter City as an inheritance site. Those who obtain Divine Slaughter's Domain there may qualify as his successor and undertake the Asura Nine Trials 224. He chose Tang Chen, the Clear Sky Douluo, as his inheritor; Tang Chen completed the first eight trials before the Rakshasa God interfered during the ninth, using the Blood Red Nine-Headed Bat King to parasitize him and turn him into the King of Slaughter 224.

Investigation of the Asura Hunter

When the Asura Hunter's bond with the Asura Demon Sword is severed, the Asura God investigates through the artifact. The hunter's final memories are blank, leading him to conclude that it was killed too quickly to transmit its memories; a projection reveals only that the hunter pursued an Evil God energy source into Douluo Continent 223.

He then reviews Tang Chen's stalled inheritance and discovers the Rakshasa God's interference. Deciding to investigate both the hunter's death and the Evil God, he merges with the Asura Demon Sword and travels to Douluo Continent 224.

Descent upon Slaughter City

The Asura God's divine sense descends over Slaughter City, intensifying its killing aura and driving its inhabitants to worship him. He accepts their faith power, then turns his attention to Ling Feng's possession of the Asura Demon Sword and Qian Renxue's unusual combination of divine powers and opposing attributes 235.

Although he considers granting Ling Feng Divine Slaughter's Domain and making him an inheritor, he attacks after judging Ling Feng guilty of killing Tang Chen and severing the sword's connection to him 236.

Battle with Ling Feng

Ling Feng draws the Asura God into Unlimited Blade Works, a domain whose laws suppress the effects of the Asura Domain and Slaughter City's magic-ban effect. The Asura God recognizes that the domain can materialize fantasies and admits its superiority over his own domain 237.

Forced into his three-headed, eight-armed state, the Asura God is heavily damaged by Ling Feng's Nine Origins Unite: Infinite Annihilation. He restores his body with Asura Essence Blood and retaliates with the Asura Blood Sword 238 239.

Ling Feng counters by manifesting the Four Immortal Slaying Swords and the Immortal Slaying Sword Formation. The formation locks down the Asura God, annihilates his divine power, extinguishes his soul, and shatters his godhead 240 241.

Succession After His Fall

With the Asura God dead, Ling Feng cannot sense the Asura Nine Trials despite controlling the Asura Demon Sword. He transfers the weapon to Qian Renxue, who immediately receives the calling of the vacant divine position and inherits the remaining ninth trial, which requires her to reach Rank 99 241 242.

In the finale, the future Tang San absorbs the Sea God and Asura God identities of the current time-space, restoring the Asura God identity through himself and reclaiming the Asura Demon Sword despite Qian Renxue's resistance 254.
