Background / History

The Great Thousand World is a boundless world containing countless regions, races, and lower planes. Its spiritual-energy cultivation system is treated as the universe's mainstream, while the Dou Qi Continent is a lower plane within its wider cosmos 75 532 564.

In ancient times, the world suffered a catastrophic invasion by the Outside Evil Clan. Great Emperors fell in the conflict, and the Great Thousand Gate that summoned Dou Gods from the Dou Qi Continent was likely created during this crisis; those summoned experts, including the Star Emperor, are believed to have perished 595.

The ancient conflict left battlefields, sealed enemies, and inheritances scattered across the world. The Ancient Saint Abyss alone is said to contain the remains and legacies of nearly ten fallen Heaven Supremes, including four Saint Grade Heaven Supremes 628.

By Ye Chen's era, the Great Thousand World is considered weaker than it was in antiquity, though it remains home to powerful Heaven Supremes, ancient clans, supercontinents, and forces such as the Great Thousand Palace and Sword Domain 595 634.

Spiritual energy is the Great Thousand World's primary cultivation energy. It is more potent than Dou Qi and supports the realm system beginning with Spirit Wheel and progressing through Divine Soul, the Three Heavens Realm, Supreme, Earth Supreme, and Heaven Supreme 532 563.

• Great Thousand World cultivation methods are considered superior to lower-plane methods because they develop and control the soul from early stages 532.
• Supreme Realm has nine grades; spatial mastery becomes especially important from Fifth Grade Supreme onward 534.
• Earth Supremes can freely traverse space in the Great Thousand World, a feat beyond lower-ranked cultivators there 564.
• Heaven Supremes require a Heavenly Venerable Spirit Body, allowing their physical bodies to transform into pure spirit bodies 563.

Conflict with the Outside Evil Clan

The Outside Evil Clan is the Great Thousand World's principal external threat. Its forces include Heavenly Demon Emperors, Demon Kings, and the hybrid Evil Spirit Clan, whose members can cultivate both demonic and spiritual energy 607 649.

The Burning Heaven Mountain Range was one of the ancient war's bloodiest battlefields, where numerous Demon Kings and Demon Emperors died. It later becomes a frontline region again as Ye Chen confronts renewed invasions 605 607.

During the final campaign, Ye Chen traps Outside Evil Clan powerhouses with the Great Zhou Heavenly Star Chart and refines them using Emperor Flame. The Great Thousand World's forces attack the Demon Territory from four directions, and after three years the invading powerhouses are fully refined 649.

The Great Thousand Demon Transformation Array ultimately completes its mission of refining the Heavenly Evil God and dissipates. The world then begins a prolonged campaign to eradicate surviving Outside Evil Clan members, many of whom flee into lower planes 649.
