Ch. 666Hunter J and the Mad Collector (Two-Hour Revision)

Tetsuya fought Team Rocket executive Pyrus while Hunter J and Gilder arrived near Mt. Moon to pursue their own interests. After Pyrus escaped, Tetsuya realized Team Rocket was likely targeting Cerulean City and asked Sabrina to protect several people there.

  • Lady J ordered her crew to capture valuable Pokémon and contacted Gilder, offering him a discounted capture service.
  • Gilder spoke with Lady J while Brock ordered an attack on her airship and warned Gilder to leave the area.
  • Tetsuya used Blaziken, Scizor, Weavile, and Pidgeot against Pyrus, and Blast Burn knocked Scizor out as Mega Blaziken exhausted its Mega Evolution.
  • Pyrus used smoke to escape, and Tetsuya concluded that Team Rocket was likely targeting Cerulean City.
  • Tetsuya called Sabrina and asked her to look after several people in Cerulean City; she agreed but warned that a dangerous presence nearby limited what she could do.

Ch. 667Support (Two-Hour Revision)

Tetsuya learned that Sabrina had detected Mewtwo when it first arrived and had warned Giovanni to keep Team Rocket out of Saffron City. At Mt. Moon, Wupo, Brock, and Gehao were nearly overwhelmed by the rampaging Wild Pokemon; Minglan arrived to rescue them, but a suited man in the clouds declared that they would soon die.

  • Sabrina told Tetsuya she had sensed Mewtwo when it first appeared and said she had threatened Giovanni to keep Team Rocket away from Saffron City.
  • Tetsuya learned that Giovanni would reach Viridian City in about half an hour, while Brock expected Giovanni, his grandfather, and Minglan to end the crisis quickly.
  • At Mt. Moon, Wupo, Brock, and Gehao fought the Wild Pokemon until their Pokemon and the three trainers were badly wounded and surrounded.
  • Minglan arrived from Cerulean City and sent Mega Gyarados, Slowbro, and Cloyster to drive back the attackers and rescue the injured trainers.
  • A suited man in the clouds said the seniors would soon be eaten by the Wild Pokemon, while an armored Humanoid Pokemon questioned why he did not simply kill them himself.

Ch. 668Fated Encounter

Minglan’s Pokémon overwhelmed the weakened wild Pokémon, but Giovanni sent Mewtwo to eliminate the Trainers. As Mewtwo unleashed a devastating attack, a small figure appeared in its path.

  • Minglan’s Slowbro, Clawitzer, Mega Gyarados, and Cloyster used rain, water, and ice attacks to suppress the exhausted wild Pokémon.
  • Mewtwo told Giovanni that the fighting Trainers had reached their limit, and Giovanni ordered it to eliminate them.
  • Mewtwo charged down and knocked Minglan’s Dewgong out with one hit.
  • Brock recognized Giovanni and Mewtwo, while Minglan’s remaining Pokémon moved to defend their Trainer.
  • Mewtwo gathered purple energy and fired a beam, but a small figure appeared in its path.

Ch. 669Fierce Battle: The Third and Fourth Parties Join In

Mew appeared at Mt. Moon and began fighting Mewtwo, while Tetsuya left Pewter City to investigate the battle. As he approached, two more streaks of purple light joined the already chaotic scene.

  • Mew arrived at Mt. Moon and absorbed Mewtwo’s attack, then fought it in the sky above the ruins.
  • Tetsuya stopped Brock from leaving Pewter City and volunteered to investigate the disturbance himself.
  • Brock assigned others to cover Tetsuya’s post and continued directing the city’s defenses as Tetsuya flew toward Mt. Moon on Pidgeot.
  • Tetsuya deduced that Mew had come from the Tree of Beginning after the collapse of Mt. Moon drew its attention.
  • Tetsuya spotted two streaks of purple light racing toward the battlefield and realized more opponents had arrived.

Ch. 670Mew vs. Mewtwo vs. Mewtwo

Mew and two Mewtwo fought above the ruined Mt. Moon, drawing Tetsuya and Ditto Mewtwo into the conflict as they watched. Tetsuya urged Ditto Mewtwo to help confront Giovanni, who had created Team Rocket Mewtwo and was watching from the sky.

  • Mew and Team Rocket Mewtwo redirected their attacks at two newcomers, whose Energy Ball cleared the clouds over Mt. Moon and exposed Giovanni watching from above.
  • Team Rocket Mewtwo challenged Mew’s claim to be the genuine original, while Cerulean Mewtwo rejected being called a counterfeit.
  • Team Rocket Mewtwo attacked Mew with Confusion, and Cerulean Mewtwo struck Mew with Psycho Cut before battling Team Rocket Mewtwo with close-range moves.
  • Mew returned to the fight, turning the battle into a three-way melee as Tetsuya watched with Ditto Mewtwo.
  • Tetsuya showed Ditto Mewtwo photographs of Giovanni’s experiments and urged it to help oppose Giovanni and give Mewtwo a true companion.

Ch. 671Giovanni Prepares to Make His Move (The Chapter Numbers for the Previous Two Chapters Were Wrong)

Tetsuya and Ditto Mewtwo watched Mew and the two Mewtwo fight, while Giovanni prepared to intervene. Ditto Mewtwo confronted Giovanni, who sent out Beedrill to meet its charge.

  • Ditto Mewtwo agreed to help Tetsuya deal with Giovanni after hearing about his crimes.
  • Team Rocket Mewtwo broke free of its armor, but Mew and Cerulean Mewtwo continued battling it in a seemingly restrained contest.
  • Tetsuya realized Giovanni was approaching and warned Ditto Mewtwo that he was strong.
  • Ditto Mewtwo vanished to confront Giovanni, and Tetsuya followed on Pidgeot.
  • Giovanni sent out Beedrill, which blocked Ditto Mewtwo's charge with its Dual Lances.

Ch. 672Beedrill vs. Ditto

Giovanni and Beedrill fought Ditto Mewtwo while Giovanni sent Nidoking and Nidoqueen to attack Minglan’s group. As the battle spread and Tetsuya prepared to intervene, Ditto Mewtwo remained locked in combat with Beedrill.

  • Ditto Mewtwo trapped Beedrill with Psychic, but Beedrill broke free and struck it with Twin Needle.
  • Giovanni strengthened Beedrill, which used Fury Cutter and Poison Sting to break Ditto Mewtwo’s Reflect before the two clashed again.
  • Giovanni ordered Beedrill to use Pin Missile, and Ditto Mewtwo stopped the needles before sending Shadow Balls toward Giovanni; Beedrill shielded him and healed with Aura.
  • Giovanni sent Nidoking and Nidoqueen to attack Minglan’s group, and the pair countered their Water and Ice attacks while Brock’s Onix blocked Nidoking’s ice strike.
  • Tetsuya assessed Giovanni’s strength from the shadows and told Pidgeot that it was their turn to act.

Ch. 673Joining the Battlefield

Tetsuya joined the battle with Mega Pidgeot and rescued Minglan, Brock, Wupo, and Gehao from Giovanni’s Pokemon. He and his allies pressured Nidoking and Nidoqueen, but Giovanni ordered them underground, and Tetsuya realized they were fighting in Mt. Moon and sent Gallade to strike them with Earthquake.

  • Tetsuya drank Secret Medicine, restored his strength, and Mega Evolved Pidgeot before joining the battle.
  • Pidgeot’s Air Slashes helped Tetsuya rescue Minglan, Brock, Wupo, and Gehao and carry them to safety on the cliff.
  • Tetsuya and Pidgeot held Nidoking and Nidoqueen at bay, while Minglan sent Clawitzer to attack them with Water Pulse.
  • Giovanni ordered Nidoqueen to use Surf and Nidoking to use Dig, and the pair disappeared beneath the flooded valley.
  • Tetsuya recognized that the battle was taking place in Mt. Moon and sent Gallade to use Earthquake against the underground Pokemon.

Ch. 674Battle Escalation

Tetsuya and his allies continued fighting Giovanni, whose Aura healed his Pokemon and revealed his intent to kill everyone present. Tetsuya boosted Gallade to Quasi-Champion Level with Psychic Resonance as the battle escalated across Mt. Moon.

  • Nidoking diverted most of Gallade's attack water through tunnels in Mt. Moon, allowing Nidoking and Nidoqueen to emerge alive.
  • Giovanni used Aura to heal Nidoking and Nidoqueen, and Minglan realized the masked Trainer was Giovanni and intended to kill them all.
  • Giovanni's Beedrill overwhelmed Ditto Mewtwo with Double Team and X-Scissor while Mew and Cerulean Mewtwo teamed up to batter Team Rocket Mewtwo.
  • Giovanni sent Honchkrow to attack Gallade and replaced it with Weavile, while Tetsuya sent Mega Pidgeot to intercept Honchkrow.
  • Tetsuya used Psychic Resonance—Stage Two with Gallade, raising it to Quasi-Champion Level, and Gallade attacked Nidoking and Nidoqueen as Clawitzer joined the fight.

Ch. 675Actions of All Parties

As the battle at Mt. Moon continued, Gilder identified Deoxys and Mew as likely combatants and redirected his Flying Palace toward the battlefield, while Hunter J’s group withdrew. Tetsuya and Giovanni’s fight reached a turning point when Beedrill attacked, but a purple light suddenly intervened.

  • Sakura, Ayame, and Botan worried over the missing trainers as Brock and Officer Jenny discussed the danger at Mt. Moon.
  • Gilder’s aircraft identified Deoxys and likely Mew, and he ordered the Flying Palace to Mt. Moon to capture them.
  • Hunter J ordered her crew to retreat, while Brock and Officer Jenny stayed put; Brock then received a report of Team Rocket gathering around Cerulean City.
  • Tetsuya’s Mega Pidgeot pressed Giovanni’s Honchkrow while Gallade, Onix, and Clawitzer battled Nidoking and Nidoqueen to a near mutual knockout.
  • Giovanni ordered Beedrill to finish Tetsuya, but Tetsuya said Giovanni had misunderstood the two Mewtwo as a purple light knocked Beedrill’s attack back.

Ch. 676Sacred Fire

Giovanni’s Beedrill battered Ditto Mewtwo by repeatedly striking its vital points, while Tetsuya unleashed Mega Pidgeot’s inherited Sacred Fire against Honchkrow. The attack filled the area with blinding light and intense heat, leaving Giovanni and the onlookers outside Mt. Moon alarmed by the orange-red sky.

  • Giovanni realized another Mewtwo had joined the battle and ordered Beedrill to keep attacking, suspecting a rival organization was creating Mewtwo.
  • Tetsuya identified that Beedrill was targeting Ditto Mewtwo’s weak points, and Giovanni ordered it to stop trying to capture Mewtwo alive.
  • Tetsuya turned his attention to Honchkrow and commanded Mega Pidgeot to use Sacred Fire, which briefly overwhelmed Honchkrow’s will to fight.
  • Honchkrow attacked Pidgeot with Night Slash but was burned by the flames surrounding it while Pidgeot completed its Sacred Fire.
  • Tetsuya snapped his fingers and told Pidgeot to finish the battle, as blinding white light and scorching heat engulfed the area.
  • People outside Mt. Moon saw the distant sky turn orange-red and grew uneasy.

Ch. 677Phoenix

Pidgeot used Sacred Fire, revealing that the Ho-Oh power within it could restore Pidgeot instead of unleashing its full force. Tetsuya sent the recovered Pidgeot after Beedrill, and their clash began.

  • Pidgeot emerged wreathed in flames, while Honchkrow remained hidden nearby.
  • Tetsuya realized Sacred Fire had restored Pidgeot because it could not withstand the move’s full power, and that Pidgeot could not use it again soon.
  • Tetsuya ordered Pidgeot to use Tailwind and Quick Attack against Beedrill.
  • Giovanni ordered Beedrill to catch Pidgeot, and Beedrill tracked it with Compound Eyes and readied its Twin Needle.

Ch. 678Giovanni's Strength

Tetsuya and Giovanni continued their battle as Giovanni’s Beedrill revealed its speed, poison tactics, and precise attacks against Pidgeot and Ditto Mewtwo. The chapter ended with Beedrill slicing through Pidgeot’s Heat Wave with a powerful Brick Break.

  • Giovanni tried to recruit Tetsuya, but Tetsuya answered by ordering Pidgeot to attack Beedrill with Quick Attack.
  • Giovanni used Beedrill’s Flash and U-turn to strike Pidgeot, then recalled and sent Beedrill back out to launch Pin Missile.
  • Tetsuya had Pidgeot use Feather Dance and Gust to blunt the needles, but he discovered Beedrill had coated them with poison.
  • Beedrill struck Ditto Mewtwo with four Fury Attacks that hit vital points, leaving it badly injured in a crater.
  • Cerulean Mewtwo warned Tetsuya to protect Ditto Mewtwo while Mew and Team Rocket Mewtwo continued attacking it.
  • Tetsuya ordered Pidgeot to blanket the area with Heat Wave, but Giovanni’s Beedrill used Brick Break to cleave through the flames.

Ch. 679Fierce Battle (Second Update)

Tetsuya struggled to keep Pidgeot standing against Giovanni's Beedrill, whose immense attack power and Giovanni's command skill overwhelmed him. Minglan's Clawitzer joined as support, and the battle continued with Pidgeot and Clawitzer attacking Beedrill together.

  • Tetsuya had Pidgeot use repeated Air Slashes to counter Beedrill's crescent-shaped shockwave, but Pidgeot emerged from the smoke badly injured.
  • Tetsuya recognized that Giovanni was suppressing him and worried that Pidgeot would lose if the battle continued.
  • Minglan sent Clawitzer to assist, and Tetsuya told it to disrupt Beedrill's attacks and wear down its stamina rather than take over the front line.
  • Tetsuya ordered Pidgeot to fire repeated Air Cutters while Giovanni had Beedrill use Focus Energy and its secret Iai Slash—Fury Cutter technique.
  • Clawitzer launched Water Jets and Water Balls at Beedrill, which Giovanni ordered to eliminate its attackers.

Ch. 680The Collector's Technology

Gilder deployed technology powered by the Legendary Birds to trap Mew and Team Rocket Mewtwo, while Tetsuya persuaded Cerulean Mewtwo to help him confront Giovanni. Giovanni then Mega Evolved Beedrill and used Agility to escape as the battle shifted.

  • Gilder halted the Flying Palace, identified Giovanni and the Legendary Pokemon, and launched triangular capture cages at Mew and Team Rocket Mewtwo.
  • The cages formed a pyramid barrier that weakened after the two Pokemon attacked, so Gilder deployed more devices to reinforce it.
  • Tetsuya recognized that the trap drew on the Legendary Birds' power, and Gilder privately explained his capture technology's theory of balance.
  • Cerulean Mewtwo treated Ditto Mewtwo and agreed to help Tetsuya, who told Giovanni to consider how he would survive.
  • Giovanni ordered Beedrill to Mega Evolve, then used Agility to flee rather than continue fighting.

Ch. 681Escape

Tetsuya watched Giovanni escape after Mega Beedrill carried him away, while Gilder abandoned his attempt to capture Mew and Team Rocket Mewtwo when his device was close to failing. After the groups regrouped, Team Rocket Mewtwo discovered Giovanni had fled and confronted Cerulean Mewtwo.

  • Giovanni Mega Evolved Beedrill and escaped at high speed, while Cerulean Mewtwo declined to pursue him.
  • Gilder learned that his capture device had only a 0.6% chance of success and ordered the Flying Palace to withdraw while the device kept operating.
  • Tetsuya reflected that his intervention had changed events, then praised Pidgeot as it used Roost to recover from its injuries.
  • Minglan and Brock questioned Tetsuya about Giovanni and Cerulean Mewtwo, and Brock said he would take measures regarding Viridian City and the Viridian Gym.
  • Team Rocket Mewtwo emerged with Mew, realized Giovanni had escaped, and shouted angrily at Cerulean Mewtwo.

Ch. 682True Fragrance Law

Tetsuya watched Team Rocket Mewtwo flee after Mew signaled a truce, then treated Mew and Cerulean Mewtwo to Energy Cubes while Mew departed without helping him reach its home. After Mt. Moon’s destruction, Tetsuya warned Minglan that Team Rocket might be targeting Cerulean City.

  • Team Rocket Mewtwo erupted with Psychic Waves and vanished after Mew taunted it, while Mew and Cerulean Mewtwo agreed to a truce.
  • Tetsuya gave Mew Energy Cubes, and Mew ate them before flying back to the Tree of Beginning without providing contact information.
  • Tetsuya offered Cerulean Mewtwo more Energy Cubes, and Ditto Mewtwo tried one before Mewtwo vanished with it.
  • Minglan and Brock mourned Mt. Moon’s devastation, and Tetsuya argued that Pokémon activity, rather than Trainers’ digging, had caused the collapse.
  • Tetsuya urged Minglan to return to Cerulean City because he suspected Team Rocket was about to move against it.

Ch. 683Warmhearted Tetsuya

After helping contain the aftermath of the Pokémon riot at Mt. Moon and returning to Pewter City with Wupo and Gehao, Tetsuya learned that Team Rocket was attacking Cerulean City. He flew there to help, following Sabrina’s mental directions.

  • Minglan realized he needed to return to Cerulean City, so Tetsuya sent Togekiss and Ampharos to carry him back while Gigalith and Serperior helped control the Wild Pokémon.
  • Tetsuya and Brock captured the subdued Pokémon and traveled to Pewter City with the unconscious Wupo and Gehao as the Pokémon horde’s attack on the city ended.
  • Brock learned that Pewter City had suffered severe damage and casualties, then reunited with Wupo and Gehao and arranged for the Miss Joys to treat them.
  • Tetsuya learned that Team Rocket had attacked Cerulean City and nearby towns, while Vermilion City and Saffron had sent Trainers to help defend the area.
  • Tetsuya rode Pidgeot toward Cerulean City, where Sabrina sent him a mental map and called him to her location.

Ch. 684Trouble in Cerulean City

Tetsuya reached Cerulean City and learned that Team Rocket had seized much of Cerulean Gym, while Sabrina protected the Cerulean Four Sisters and monitored the battle. After helping League forces reclaim ground, Tetsuya entered the Gym and confronted Team Rocket executive Lance, whose Crobat was strong enough to threaten his Pokémon.

  • Tetsuya found Sabrina and the Cerulean Four Sisters hiding in an illusion-protected house, and learned Team Rocket had occupied about half of Cerulean Gym.
  • Sabrina told Tetsuya that Gym Leader Minglan had returned to defend the Gym and that his Togekiss and Ampharos were helping; Tetsuya reassured Misty that her grandfather was safe.
  • Tetsuya sent Serperior, Gigalith, Alolan Ninetales, Escavalier, and Empoleon into battle, helping League Trainers subdue Team Rocket members across the city.
  • Tetsuya blasted open the boulder-blocked entrance to Cerulean Gym, drawing the attention of Lance and Athena inside.
  • Tetsuya met Lance at the Gym entrance and ordered Serperior and Gigalith to attack Lance's Crobat, while he called for two more Pokémon to join the fight.

Ch. 685vs Lance (One-Hour Revision)

Tetsuya joined the battle at Cerulean Gym, where Minglan fought Athena’s Team Rocket forces while Tetsuya faced Lance. Minglan flooded the battlefield, and Tetsuya’s reinforcements helped him turn the fight against Lance’s Crobat.

  • Minglan sent Togekiss and Ampharos to help Tetsuya after they sensed his arrival.
  • Athena forced Team Rocket’s unevolved Pokémon to evolve with a strange sound-wave device, but Minglan answered with Clawitzer’s massive flood that swept across Cerulean Gym and the surrounding streets.
  • Tetsuya’s Serperior recovered by using Mega Drain on nearby Pokémon while Lance’s Crobat continued attacking it and draining its strength.
  • Togekiss and Ampharos arrived, and Tetsuya ordered Ampharos to strike Lance with Thunderbolt through the floodwater and Togekiss to heal Serperior with Life Dew.
  • Lance was electrocuted, and Crobat released Serperior to attack Ampharos.
