Fengdu City's sky was forever that oppressive, dusky yellow. Su Yan and the others had been settled in the guesthouse for several days. Apart from occasionally going out to familiarize themselves with the surroundings and exchange for some Underworld-exclusive supplies, they spent most of their time meditating, consolidating the insights and improvements gained from their successive battles in the Netherworld, while awaiting the Underworld higher-ups' final "judgment."
That day, a familiar, imposing figure appeared at the guesthouse once more—Judge Cui Jue had come in person.
"Everyone, come with me to the Hall of Senluo." Cui Jue was concise, his face revealing neither joy nor anger. "The Ten Yama Kings wish to hear your account of the End Times matter firsthand."
The Ten Yama Kings! The Underworld's highest rulers! Everyone's hearts tightened. They knew that the moment that would determine their fate—and perhaps influence the future course of resistance against the End Times Cult—had arrived.
Following Cui Jue, they passed through the core area of Fengdu City, where the palaces and towers were guarded ever more heavily and the fluctuations of law grew increasingly vast and majestic. At last, they arrived before a colossal hall of magnificent grandeur, as though it supported the entire Netherworld sky. Above its gates hung a plaque inscribed in ancient Netherworld divine script—Hall of Senluo.
The moment they entered, it was as though they had stepped into another world. Within the endless void stood ten enormous figures radiating overwhelming divine majesty. Each had a different form, with faces that were stern, compassionate, or vicious. Seated high in separate directions like ten Netherworld suns of different colors, they jointly formed the core of this place's laws. Their gazes fell tangibly upon Su Yan and the others, carrying scrutiny, inquiry, and a barely perceptible... disagreement.
