"Home... Can I really go home?"
As night fell, Long Qian sat on the rooftop terrace, gazing out at the brilliant starry sky.
He had been in the Super Seminary Universe for three or four months now, and he truly missed home. Although he had spent this time sleeping in beds of tenderness every day, his longing for home had only grown stronger.
He had fantasized about traveling between worlds, surrounded by beauties, but that was only a fantasy. Reality had to be faced eventually, didn't it?
Just as that high-ground security guard had said: above the Great Wall lay billions of stars, and above the stars stood an eternal watch.
He had been here for several months already. It was probably almost New Year's back home.
Long Qian felt conflicted. Over these three or four months, his relationship with Qi Lin had progressed by leaps and bounds. Homesickness and reluctance to part made him deeply troubled.
Perhaps that was how an ordinary person was supposed to think. With a home and loved ones, who could peacefully live in another world?
The more he thought about it, the more irritated he became.
Most importantly, Old Man Jia's authorization still had not arrived, making him even more restless.
He still could not become light. He had a transformation device but could not become light. Who wouldn't be miserable in that situation?
What if he really kicked the bucket?
"System, give me a summon. I haven't used this month's summon yet, have I?"
After sighing, Long Qian remembered the important matter.
Four months, four summons. Three of them had been items. He was furious, alright?
He had originally thought he could summon living beings, at least someone to keep Kayle company.
But who would have thought that the system only took his chances without doing its job, constantly fooling him?
It really was like burning paper offerings at a grave—trying to fool ghosts.
And the last two summons had both come from the same world: Honor of Kings hero trial cards, each lasting an entire day. These trial cards were ridiculously overpowered. Once used, he could only change back after twenty-four hours. But damn it, one of the cards was Hua Mulan.
Turning into Hua Mulan for an entire day... that was a little hard for him to accept.
He could accept dressing as a man, but this was not that. His entire body and appearance had to change. Wasn't this making things difficult for Fat Tiger?
Even though the Spark Prism in his hand had a one-in-two chance of turning him into Camilla, Camilla only lasted a few minutes. Between a few minutes and twenty-four hours, he could still tell which was worse.
Ding! Congratulations, Host, on completing this summon. The summoned item is the personal long johns of Sacred Keisha, Angel Queen of the Super Seminary Universe. Please collect them!
"??°??°?????"
"??????????"
"Was the wind on this rooftop too strong? Did I just hear things?
"Oh, I must have summoned something awesome. I'm so happy I'm hearing things now. Hahaha."
System: "Host, you heard correctly. You are not hallucinating. Congratulations, this is once again a delightfully familiar item."
Long Qian thought he had misheard. Out of habit, he dug at his ear with a finger and continued, "System, I didn't hear that clearly just now. Please say it again!"
Ding! Congratulations... (Let's not pad the word count, alright?)
After hearing what the system had said again, he was even more dumbfounded. What the hell kind of illness was this?
"What, what, what? What kind of summon is that? System, do you have some kind of serious illness or something? _(:?"∠)_."
Little Milk Sha's long johns?
Why not just say Little Milk Sha's personal underwear?
Did he even need to summon that stuff? Couldn't he take it off himself?
Though he did not have the guts to do that at the moment, there was no need to waste a summon chance like this, was there?
It was like wiping his ass with sandpaper—he had gotten screwed over hard.
System: "I don't know either, Host. It's a random summon across countless worlds, and the Super Seminary Universe is naturally included. I have no way of deciding what gets summoned."
"They're still warm. Don't tell me Little Milk Sha just took them off."
Taking the long johns that had dropped from the system space, Long Qian felt lingering warmth from them. They were nice and hot.
He only hoped the system would stop summoning strange things in the future. This was simply outrageous.
It was true that he was a lecher, but he did not have a collecting fetish.
System: "Why do I feel like Host is letting his mind wander? You actually want them, don't you? Just admit it generously."
"Bullshit... Don't talk nonsense. I, Long Qian, have always been upright and honorable. I'm not that kind of shameless man."
As Long Qian spoke, he quietly put away Keisha's summoned long johns.
Meanwhile, far away in Keisha's bedroom within the Angel Nebula, Keisha had just removed her King's Attire and changed into casual clothes, preparing to enjoy a nice bath. When she turned around and saw that the long johns on her bed had vanished, she frowned.
"Did a thief break into Heavenly City?"
"..."
"Kid, what are you doing here? Missing home?"
As Long Qian muttered to himself, he suddenly heard a familiar voice. He jumped in fright, then quickly reacted. Clearing his throat twice, he asked, "Ahem, Yan, when did you get here?"
Naturally, he also breathed a sigh of relief. Luckily, he had put that thing away in time. If she had seen it, he would have been utterly humiliated.
"Just now. You seem different from how you were a few months ago."
Angel Yan was somewhat puzzled. Why had Long Qian looked so flustered?
Still, she did not dwell on it. She carefully examined Long Qian's body. Though she still could not inspect his specific physical data as before, she could sense something unusual about him.
Long Qian's physical strength seemed to have surpassed that of an ordinary Divine River Body human.
"I suppose you came to negotiate with Earth."
"Yes, you're right. But I'm afraid these negotiations won't go very smoothly."
Long Qian vaguely recalled some of the plot. Angel Yan had come to negotiate with Earth, after which Xiong Bing Lian would challenge Sun Wukong. In truth, Sun Wukong was testing Xiong Bing Lian's combat strength.
Although he had not visited the Super Seminary during this period, he had learned some useful information from Qi Lin. The members of Xiong Bing Lian had all grown stronger. Compared to when they had first entered the academy, they were worlds apart.
Long Qian did not really understand the Super Seminary's power scaling, but presumably, the stronger the genes, the stronger the person. Take the three god-making projects, for example. They should have third-generation Super Genes, capable of matching guardian-level angels like Angel Yan.
As for that stubborn fool Lena, she should be a little stronger than Angel Yan. After all, she was the main god of Lieyang Star.
But Qi Lin, with the Divine River Civilization's first-generation Super Gene, was probably much weaker. He remembered the animation mentioning that Qi Lin's lifespan was not even as long as that of second-generation Super Gene users like Zhao Xin.
Right, Xiong Bing Lian was going to challenge Sun Wukong. Could he go stir things up and raise the difficulty level for them?
He happened to have two trial cards in hand: one for Sun Wukong's Supreme Treasure skin, and one for Hua Mulan's Champion Flying General skin.
What annoyed him was that these cards seemed usable only by him and could not be used on anyone else. Even if they could be used on others, though, no one seemed suitable.
"System, if you were a little more useful—if summoned characters didn't have to leave and there were no time limits—I could put together an entire team."
System: "There's nothing I can do either, Host. I'm also waiting for an upgrade. Perhaps it will unlock some permissions."
