The next day.

For once, Ayato did not use Shadow Clones to study. Instead, he held the Fourth Hokage's Special Kunai and cautiously poured his Chakra into the Flying Thunder God Mark on it—the four words, "Sword of Loving Affection."

This Kunai had to be specially made, and the Flying Thunder God Mark had clearly been deliberately left behind for others to study. Otherwise, it would not have been so easy to pour Chakra into it. Otherwise, even if the Fourth's exceedingly filial disciple was not particularly bright, he could not have failed to notice the mark on his own body all this time.

This Kunai definitely could not be used in battle. After all, Ayato still needed it to learn the Flying Thunder God. Although Flying Thunder God Marks generally would not disappear, that did not mean the objects carrying them could not be damaged.

After a while, Ayato stopped. After roughly assessing it, he figured that if he worked harder, he could probably complete the first step tomorrow.

Now, it was time to go out and train. He could put studying aside for two days. The Flying Thunder God was worth it, but training could not stop.

After all, even the Flying Thunder God required Chakra to use, and as a Space-Time Ninjutsu, its consumption would not be low.

Still, compared with those notoriously Chakra-hungry Ninjutsu, the Flying Thunder God's consumption should be manageable. The Fourth Hokage's Chakra reserves must have been considerable, but they certainly could not compare to those freaks. Since the Fourth could use the Flying Thunder God so easily, its consumption could not have been that outrageous.

But just because it was not outrageous for the Fourth did not mean it was not high for Ayato. Their Chakra reserves were simply incomparable, and Ayato still needed to grow.

Furthermore, one's mastery of the Flying Thunder God likely affected its Chakra consumption as well. The Fourth Hokage's mastery of the Flying Thunder God had surpassed even the Second Hokage's. There was no need to say more about his level of mastery. Therefore, if Ayato wanted to use the Flying Thunder God, he could not stop training from any angle.

Sometimes, Ayato also wanted to force his growth, breaking through his limits like Rock Lee. After all, there was not much time left before those freaks emerged. Even if he damaged his foundation, the side effects probably would not show by then.

However, it was only a passing thought. After so long, he had realized that although his taijutsu talent was fairly good, it truly could not compare to Rock Lee's. Without the effects of Lightning Release Massage, Ayato would likely have been left far behind by Rock Lee in this regard.

Breaking through one's limits also depended on talent. Perhaps Rock Lee did not suffer such severe side effects. On the third day, Ayato looked at the Special Kunai in his hand. He had finally completed the first step. This Kunai now truly belonged to him. Even if he gave it to someone else, they probably would no longer be able to use it to test their talent for the Flying Thunder God.

The process had been even more difficult than Ayato had expected. He had still fallen slightly short on the second day, but fortunately, he completed it on the third.

The complexity of the Flying Thunder God Mark made Ayato sigh. Simply infusing it was already such a hassle. When it came time for him to learn the Flying Thunder God and construct a mark of his own, just how difficult would it be?

The more Ayato came into contact with it, the more he could sense the Flying Thunder God's difficulty. No wonder Konoha had so many geniuses, yet only the Second and Fourth Hokage had learned it. Of course, Ayato believed that his name would definitely be added to that list in the future!

This gave Ayato even greater confidence in learning the Flying Thunder God. He had only established an initial connection and could already sense it without deliberately trying. That meant he definitely had the talent.

Still, Ayato smiled. For the Third Hokage's assessment after one semester, he was now completely confident that he would pass.

As for the Summoning Technique on that Scroll...

For Ayato, that was the easiest step. He had long since memorized the required hand seals and the flow of Chakra. Using it would not be difficult.

In the days that followed, he would continue strengthening the connection. Fortunately, subsequent infusions would not require as much Chakra as the first, and as he grew familiar with the process, his infusion efficiency would improve as well. It would not take much time.

It was just a pity. The Chakra he had painstakingly increased could originally have been used to practice those C-Rank Ninjutsu. Now, it seemed that would have to be postponed again.
