Ayato and the Arrancar entered the war between the Wandenreich and Soul Society while Ayato pursued the Soul King’s power and a new balance for the Three Realms. The fighting reached the Soul King Palace, where Ayato divided the battlefield and his allies faced the empowered Sternritter.

• Ayato declared his intention to explore the Soul King’s power, and he and the Royal Knights prepared Akatsuki to help stabilize the Three Realms.
• Ayato supplied the power needed to restore Ichigo Kurosaki’s strength, then fought off Quilge Opie and rejected Yhwach’s offer to join the Wandenreich.
• Ayato expanded Akatsuki’s rule across Hueco Mundo, promoted Grimmjow to Royal Knight, and sent Ulquiorra and Grimmjow to declare war on Soul Society.
• When the Wandenreich invaded, Ayato and the Arrancar fought alongside the Shinigami, and Kenpachi Zaraki challenged Yhwach while Ayato blocked travel through the Shadow Realm.
• Ayato returned to Hueco Mundo with his allies as Soul Society debated his plan, while Central 46 Chambers rejected Hueco Mundo’s demand for equal standing.
• During the renewed invasion, Ayato entered the Soul King Palace and killed five Sternritter, but Saint Graph pillars revived and empowered them.
• Ayato used Moon Spirit’s Amenominaka to divide the Sternritter into separate battle spaces, then brought Retsu Unohana, Kisuke Urahara, and Kenpachi Zaraki in to fight them.
• Ayato defeated Askin Nakk Le Vaar, Unohana overcame Haschwalth, and Kenpachi killed Gerard Valkyrie before Urahara and Moon Spirit confronted Pernida and Lille Barro.
