Two months later, the Final Exam arrived as scheduled.
Tang Wulin informed the first year students of the exam's contents.
"Our Final Exam is difficult in one sense and simple in another. It's a practical combat assessment. However, what you'll be facing won't be teachers or classmates who might go easy on you, but genuine nonhuman creatures."
The moment he said that, the class erupted into commotion.
"Nonhuman creatures capable of fighting Soul Masters... Soul Beasts?"
"But haven't the Soul Beasts of the Star Dou Great Forest nearly gone extinct? Besides, I heard Teacher has been working these past few years to ease relations between humans and the Star Dou Great Forest. It doesn't seem likely that he'd provoke a conflict and have us fight them now, does it?"
"Idiot, who said Soul Beasts only exist in the Star Dou Great Forest? There are plenty of Soul Beasts in the sea too."
"Oh, right. So Teacher is taking us out to sea?"
Listening to the noisy chatter throughout the classroom, Tang Wulin smiled and clapped his hands, then raised a finger to his lips.
"Shh."
The entire classroom fell silent in an instant.
Because of the incidents that had taken place over the years, Tang Wulin's prestige within Shrek Academy had become terrifyingly high. Not a single student would be foolish enough to defy him.
He said with a smile, "I'm pleased that everyone is actively thinking. However, the opponents you'll be facing this time aren't the Sea Soul Beasts you imagined, but an evil existence known as Abyss Monsters."

Confused voices rose from the classroom.
That was only natural. Information related to the Abyss was classified throughout the Federation. Other than Soul Masters whose Soul Power and status had reached a certain level, the vast majority of
