Hearing the man's name, Richard jolted to his feet.

Great Wizard Black Tower burst into laughter, then waved a hand and awakened all the other apprentices.

"These little ones look quite promising. Alex, you've put in the effort these past few years."

Alex gave a slight nod. "It is my duty."

Following Great Wizard Black Tower into the room, they found a study beyond the door. Towering bookshelves filled half the room, while all manner of strange and unusual objects sat displayed on the other side, protected by a special transparent force field. Master Susanna looked somewhat awkward and nodded gently.

She was already more than four thousand years old, yet before Great Wizard Black Tower, she seemed like an ungrown child.

"Is this your disciple?" Great Wizard Black Tower glanced at Ellie, startling her until her face went pale.

"Yes, Teacher."

"She looks quite talented." Great Wizard Black Tower rubbed Ellie's head and casually handed her a gemstone emanating scorching heat.
