"Caw, wasn't that simple enough?" Ulysses said lightly. "I found a small church, then brainwashed its leader. After that, I spread the Religious Canon and displayed a few miracles, and smoothly converted that little church."

Richard froze for a moment. Wasn't this going a little too smoothly? But he then realized that, strictly speaking, the churches of this world could not truly be considered churches.

Because they lacked a true "god."

Against churches without gods, an old god like Ulysses had no idea how many methods at his disposal.

"Then wouldn't it be easy to spread the church everywhere?"

"Caw, I can spread it, but the native powers of this world have to be willing." As Ulysses spoke, he glanced at Angelina, who stood not far from Richard.

"The grassroots administration of this world isn't bad. If you spread the church everywhere, it will inevitably draw the Control Bureau's attention. Weren't you planning to cooperate with that organization?"

Richard shook his head slightly. "You should use a different word. I'm not planning to cooperate with that organization—I'm planning to incorporate it. My current restraint is merely to determine whether this organization has the potential to be incorporated."

Richard's voice was utterly calm, as though he were discussing what to eat that evening. Yet beneath that calm lay an authority that tolerated no defiance, along with confidence as solid as a rock.

"I have no intention of sharing this world with these natives. They can be stewards, but they must never be masters."
