Background / History

Ulysses was once a general of the Eternal God King and the Lord of Ravens in the Pantheon World Cluster. While fleeing Abyss forces through the Sea of Souls, he suffered severe damage to his divine soul and Divine Spark. He entered Richard's soul space intending to find a host, only to be trapped between the Miracle Furnace and the Wizard World's overwhelming World Will. 101

Unable to escape or resist, Ulysses offered service in exchange for survival. Richard forced him into a Fate Contract binding him for ten thousand years, after which Ulysses became Richard's source of information on the Pantheon, the Abyss, World Clusters, and divine advancement. 101

His initial body was Munin's former body. Richard later created him a usable second-level Black Crow chimera body, allowing Ulysses to stabilize his recovered power. 111 154 Over time, their coercive master-servant arrangement developed into a close partnership built on joint campaigns, research, faith management, and diplomacy. 192 625

Ulysses secretly established the Crow God of the Miracle Pantheon as a clone; his true body remained in the Eternal God King's Eternal Pantheon. This allowed him to participate in Richard's faith system without openly abandoning his original Pantheon. 626

After helping reveal the Wizard Civilization to the Eternal and Myriad Transformation God Kings, Ulysses mediated the treaty between the Gods and Wizards. He received a soul-nourishing divine artifact and became the Gods Civilization's ambassador to the Wizards. 627 628

Appearance

Ulysses most commonly appears as a black crow wreathed in dark-blue or black Flame of Annihilation. In combat, his flame trails and transformed body can make him resemble a black phoenix or a monstrous avian creature. 148 454 458

Despite his scheming nature, he is experienced, pragmatic, and protective of Richard. He regularly provides strategic advice, cautions Richard against unnecessary risks, and recognizes when a battle exceeds his own capabilities. 384 682 755 849

He can also be manipulative. Ulysses once maneuvered Richard into creating the sorcery later named “Miracle,” and he used a clone to evade the Eternal God King's restrictions on joining another Pantheon. 626 721
