Numerous cardinals took their seats. As the Dean of the Divine Art Research Institute, Bishop Martin approached Richard with two priests.
All three held a box in their hands. With a sweep of his mental power, Richard saw that the three boxes contained a Prayer Amulet, a small idol, and a wooden staff used by priests.
"Our Lord, we have completed your Divine Oracle."
Martin held the box in his hands before him and spoke with utmost reverence. The two accompanying priests beside him held the same posture.
With a wave of Richard's hand, an invisible force opened all three boxes. The three items then slowly rose from within, allowing the many bishops in the hall to see them clearly.
"Martin, there is no need for so much ceremony at a time like this. Introduce your results to everyone," Richard said with a smile.
"Your will, Our Lord."
Martin gave Richard a church salute, then stepped over to the smallest of the three items, the Prayer Amulet.
The Prayer Amulet was round, roughly the size of an infant's fist, and entirely golden. Both sides bore the symbol of the Miracle Order—a pentagram. In addition, a large number of prayers written in Wizard language had been engraved upon the blank spaces of the amulet. Yet amid that Wizard language, Richard vaguely spotted several markings that resembled Runes.
"Our Lord, and fellow colleagues. This is a Prayer Amulet. When a believer dies, it gathers and protects their soul. It is the lowest-level system of the Divine Kingdom system."
After speaking, Martin looked at Richard, his face full of guilt. "Our Lord, please forgive my incompetence. For the moment, we cannot directly send souls into the Divine Kingdom through the amulet."
