Following the passage into the base, the first thing that met their eyes was an enormous plaza.

Richard estimated that this plaza was roughly the size of a small town.

Above the plaza floated a blue fireball, which appeared to be the same thing as the Automatic Fortresses outside.

At the edges of the plaza stood three pitch-black doors, each corresponding to one side of the plaza.

Richard's spiritual power surged forth as he tried to probe the structures beyond them, only to receive utter darkness in return.

"Hmm? Could they be Teleportation Gates?"

Richard frowned and tried to send his spiritual power into the metal floor beneath his feet. But once it entered the floor, it was as though it had sunk into a mass of glue. After struggling for quite some time, it had only penetrated the slightest bit.

"A material that blocks spiritual probing? How extravagant." Richard muttered to himself.

Richard was a Five-Ring Great Wizard. There were only a handful of materials capable of stopping his spiritual power, yet in this base, such material had been used directly as floor tiles.

It could not be called anything but extravagance.

But for a race like the Titans, capable of herding stars, resources did not seem to be anything important.

Moreover, with the Titans' control over the Four Elements, they could probably mold ordinary materials from free elements and energy alone.

"Should we split up and take a look?" Richard said to Ulysses. "There shouldn't be much danger inside this base. Exploring separately will be more efficient."
