"Have I finally arrived?"
Listening to the Buddha's words, Richard felt every hair on his body stand on end.
Could it be that, many years ago, the Buddha had already foreseen what would happen today?
And according to Deer-head Moke, after attaining enlightenment, the Buddha had possessed a thousand faces. Everyone who saw him would see only the form they wished to see.
Now that Richard had seen a humanoid Buddha, didn't that mean...
"Moke, calm your heart."
The Buddha looked at Richard, his voice unhurried, like an old pedant teaching in a classroom.
"You came here to seek the mysteries of divine abilities. If you cannot calm your heart, then all your efforts will be in vain."
Hearing this, Richard instinctively took a deep breath and tried his best to steady himself.
Whether the Buddha before him truly was the Buddha of the Ten Directions Buddhist Land no longer mattered much to him. Even a level 8.5 creature had to abide by basic principles. Without this dimension's coordinates, not even the Buddha could directly interfere and help him.
Seeing Richard calm down, the Buddha immediately began his sermon.
"Divine abilities are the ultimate culmination of techniques. All techniques, though they change in myriad ways, never stray from their origin. Some make use of appearances; some manipulate rules. Even if great beings can use dimensions to cast techniques, they are still merely techniques..."
The Buddha's voice was unhurried, and from time to time, he even gave direct demonstrations. Yet it carried a strange sense of temporal dislocation.
Richard felt as though he had listened to the sermon for a very long time, but when he came back to himself, he discovered that only an instant had passed.
"Is this the wonder of a true level 8.5 creature?"
As Richard recalled
