"Move it, move it!"
The overseers' shrieks echoed incessantly across the construction site. On the vast worksite, millions upon millions of Eye Demons were building new fortresses.
The Wizard Alliance was now almost on par with the Civilization Devourer in conventional technology, which was undoubtedly laughable to the Eye Demons. As long as there was no generational technological gap, the defenders would hold an enormous advantage on a battlefield where they occupied favorable terrain.
However, time was too short. Even with the technical team Richard had brought over to support them, the Eye Demons could only make use of part of the technology.
Composite enchanted fortresses had the lowest technical requirements and offered the greatest help on the battlefield, so they had already been rolled out on a massive scale. But composite Alchemy fortresses required corresponding weapons—and even tactics.
The Eye Demons were currently engaged in fierce discussions with military technicians from the Wizard Alliance over these matters.
"Isn't your standard troop loadout set far too high?"
In the military conference room, a commander from the Eye Demons spoke with some shock.
"These are merely the lowest-grade line-filling soldiers. They only need to hold their ground on the front lines and bring us information. Giving them such fine equipment is far too wasteful.
Besides, our logistics simply cannot sustain such supplies."
"Friend, even if you can't sustain it, you must."
Across from him, a Grand Wizard slowly spoke.
"We are fighting a war we cannot lose. At this juncture, throw things like cost-effectiveness to the back of your mind. These line-filling soldiers can share some of the pressure for us. Even if it is only the slightest bit, it is crucial to us.
As for logistics, our technicians are speeding up the application of the technology. Once it begins to
