After Ulysses and Richard were hidden in the World Mushroom, Richard entered the Soul Labyrinth and lived through a seemingly perfect life as a gifted wizard surrounded by lovers and admirers. He recognized the illusion and chose to wake, asking the World Mushroom how long he had slept.
