"Danzo, Chisen has already told me your secret. You say you do not know what I am talking about, so can you let me see what you are hiding beneath those bandages?"

His sharp gaze fixed intently on Danzo.

He could see Danzo's expression growing visibly uglier by the moment.

Sarutobi Hiruzen said gravely, "You and I have been comrades for many years. You may be able to hide that expression from others, but not from me. Now, give me an explanation that will make me unwilling to dismiss you!"

"You want to dismiss me?" Danzo's face was full of disbelief. "How many contributions have I made to Konoha over the years? You want to dismiss me over some Sharingan?"

Sarutobi Hiruzen's gaze was deep and unreadable. "That is why I am giving you a chance. You must give me an explanation that satisfies everyone."

Danzo suddenly caught on and sneered. "In truth, you only want an explanation that satisfies 'you,' don't you?"

Sarutobi Hiruzen did not respond to that.

He merely stared silently at Danzo.

"Uchiha Chisen... captured the Jinchuriki?" Utatane Koharu and Mitokado Homura, two of Konoha's high council members, quickly received intelligence that they found equally unbelievable.

Calling it intelligence was not quite accurate. This matter had already spread through more than half of Konoha.

It was just that most villagers only knew rumors that Uzumaki Naruto was something like a "Demon Fox Incarnation."

They had no real concept of a "Tailed Beast Jinchuriki."

"And... Hiruzen was there too?" Utatane Koharu found it utterly inconceivable. "How could he allow the Jinchuriki to be taken away by someone from the Uchiha Clan? And taken to the Uchiha Compound, no less!"

Just as she frowned in thought, she noticed that Mitokado Homura beside her had not spoken at all. Unable to help herself, she glared at him and said displeasedly, "Will you say something?"

Mitokado Homura said gravely, "Do you think someone Uchiha Chisen has taken can be brought back so easily? That is an Uchiha even Hiruzen finds troublesome."

Utatane Koharu gritted her teeth. "Then are we supposed to sit by and watch the Nine-Tails' Rampage happen again?"

"We have no need to directly clash with Uchiha Chisen."

Mitokado Homura said faintly, "We only need to put pressure on Fugaku. After all, Fugaku is the Captain of the Konoha Military Police Force, while Uchiha Chisen is merely a member of the Konoha Military Police Force."

"I believe Hiruzen is thinking the same way. There are many ways to bring the Jinchuriki back while avoiding that so-called [Absolute Justice] Uchiha Chisen keeps talking about."
