The first explosion was like a thunderclap that tore the night apart.
Then came the second, the third, and the fourth.
The entire granary seemed to take a punch from an invisible giant fist within. Flames joined into a single blaze in moments, wooden beams snapped, tarps flew, and mountains of grain sacks and cart frames exploded in every direction.
The roof over the middle of the main warehouse collapsed first.
Countless burning fragments of wood, burlap, and grain sacks rained down. The people who had just gathered below were swallowed by towering flames before they could even finish screaming.
Kakashi landed on a half-collapsed wooden frame, surveyed the warehouse area that had been engulfed almost instantly, and gave a low whistle.
"Quite a spectacle."
Chisen stood higher up, his expression as calm as ever.
"The West Warehouse."
"Got it."
Kakashi blurred, and in the next instant, he was racing toward the ninja tools warehouse on the west side, which had yet to collapse completely.
The West Warehouse had been more heavily guarded than the Main Grain Warehouse. The moment the explosions began, several ninja rushed toward it, hoping to drag out the ninja tools and medicinal supplies before the flames closed in.
But just as they reached the warehouse door, a streak of blue-white lightning cut across their path from the darkness.
"Lightning Blade!"
Amid a piercing crackle, the entire door and half the wooden wall were ripped apart.
The explosive tags planted inside lit up together, as though something had triggered them all at once.
With a thunderous explosion, the entire West Warehouse blew apart too.
Crates of kunai, explosive tubes, and ninja tool scrolls were hurled into the air by the flames, then fell into the crowd trailing blazing red fire, setting
