Dinner was lavish. Compared to the Crown Prince, who ate instant noodles for all three meals, Hinata's little life was practically that of a princess living in a castle.
After dinner, Hinata rested for another half hour.
Her bargain-bin father, Hyuga Hiashi, sent someone to summon her. It was time for her evening training.
Pushing open the door to the Training Room, Hinata looked around. The people inside were still the same familiar old lineup.
Hyuga Hiashi stood in the middle. Beside him was the Hyuga Clan's Great Elder. Hizashi Hyuga and Neji Hyuga sat kneeling off to the side, while Little Neji's face was slightly red as he occasionally stole glances at Hinata.
"Ahem!"
The Great Elder glanced at Hinata before saying to Hyuga Hiashi, "Begin!"
Hyuga Hiashi nodded. "Hinata, come here!"
"Yes, Father!"
Hinata obediently bowed.
"Do you still remember what I taught you yesterday?"
"I do!"
"Attack me!"
"Yes!"
Hinata assumed the opening stance of the Gentle Fist, a faint fierceness in her eyes. With a movement of her feet, she rapidly closed in on Hyuga Hiashi and struck at his thigh with her palm.
No wonder someone always watched over Hinata and Hanabi whenever they trained in the Original Story. It was probably to protect the girls' chastity.
Hinata naturally could not beat Hiashi yet. However, one of Hinata's three wishes upon transmigrating had been to possess the talent to crush Madara Uchiha through casual training. Among those her age, her strength was undeniably number one in the world.
She could crush every child under five.
Maybe she could even fight six- or seven-year-olds.
Before long, Hinata was panting with exhaustion. Seeing that she could no longer hold on, Hiashi knocked her back and said flatly, "That's enough."
"Rest for a while. Next, spar with Neji."
Right, aside from being Hinata's little attendant and guard, Neji was also her daily sparring partner.
Off to the side, Hizashi Hyuga looked at Hinata with a complicated expression.
He had thought his son's talent was already the greatest in the Hyuga Clan, but he had never expected Hinata's talent to surpass even Neji's.
It seemed the Hyuga Clan's glory would have to rest on Hinata's shoulders.
How wonderful it would have been if Hinata were a boy.
Everyone in the Training Room except Little Neji and Hinata was thinking the same thing.
But if she wanted to become a boy, she would first have to find Orochimaru.
Yet after switching bodies, not only would her Byakugan be gone, even the Tenseigan would probably disappear.
Power or girls? That was the question.
Damn it!
Since she had transmigrated into the Hyuga Clan, why not just give her the status of a main-family member? Why did she have to become Hinata Hyuga?
But thinking about it carefully, transmigrating into the Hyuga Clan was actually pretty good.
At least the Hyuga Clan was not like the Uchiha, constantly plotting rebellion. Nor did they have no allies at all in Konoha like the Uchiha did.
The Hyuga Clan had fairly good relations in Konoha and kept to themselves. They also did not possess a threat like the Mangekyō Sharingan. The strongest member of the clan was only at the Quasi-Kage level.
Just think about those Kekkei Genkai clans!
The Yuki Clan with Ice Release had been exterminated, the Shikotsumyaku clan had also been exterminated, and the Senju had vanished without a trace. In another two years, when the Uchiha Clan Extermination happened, the Hyuga Clan would become Konoha's strongest clan.
The Ninja World's Number One Noble Family!
Within Konoha, the Third was hard to judge. As for Danzo... in another ten years, he would die at the hands of the Second Young Master. Once Tsunade took office, the Hyuga Clan would be safe enough.
Kakashi went without saying.
Naruto, that hot-blooded idiot, would not lay a hand on the Hyuga Clan either.
In other words, after the Uchiha Clan Extermination, the Hyuga Clan could remain glorious for at least several decades.
After resting for a while, Hinata had recovered her strength. Hyuga Hiashi called Neji over to spar with her.
It was called sparring, but it was really just practicing exchanges, becoming familiar with the use of the Gentle Fist through combat.
If they truly fought, Hinata could defeat Neji within ten moves.
They trained until nine in the evening before Hyuga Hiashi finally let Hinata go.
After taking a bath, Hinata lay in bed and drifted blissfully to sleep.
Everything about the Ninja World was good except that there was too little entertainment, technological development was somewhat warped, and Jiraiya's novels were unsuitable for children. At Hinata's age, she could not buy them at all.
As the young lady of the Hyuga Clan, while enjoying the honor brought by the Hyuga Clan, she also had to shoulder the corresponding responsibilities.
Hinata had a lot of coursework now. Every morning, she studied general subjects, while afternoons and evenings were devoted to ninja knowledge.
Excluding meals and rest, she only had two hours of entertainment time each day.
Hinata had also learned why the Ninja Academy lasted three years during wartime but expanded to six years during peacetime.
Why did apprentice Genin who graduated at age twelve only know the Three Jutsu?
The reason... was academic classes.
No matter what one learned, literacy was the foundation.
Someone like Naruto, who could not recognize a single word before entering school, wanted to become a ninja?
Dream on!
After learning to read, they still had to study all kinds of codes, signals, Ninja World history, the village's glory, ninja common knowledge, and more.
Ninjas might not value academic classes highly, but they still had to learn the basics.
Ninja common knowledge even included subjects like physics and chemistry.
Especially for a thousand-year-old noble clan of the Ninja World like the Hyuga Clan, their emphasis on academic studies was no less than that of a nation's aristocrats.
Hinata naturally studied very diligently. In her previous life, Hinata had been a poor student. Now that she had the chance to become a top student, perhaps even an academic genius, of course she had to make a good showing.
At the very least, she had to crush the Second Young Master in academics and let him experience what true despair was.
The difference between an academic genius and a top student—once you started school, you would understand.
Only good performance made one a true young lady. Poor performance made one the useless young lady from the Original Story.
For the sake of a decadent noble life, Hinata worked very hard.
After keeping at it until past three in the afternoon, Hinata finally had time to go out and get some fresh air.
The mission to find the Blond Fox was of great importance. After all, the two of them had a connection from their previous lives... Pah! It was a connection from the Original Story.
Though they were already fated to have no chance in this life, the little blond brat was having a hard life right now. She had to offer him some spiritual support, at least!
As for whether rashly approaching the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki would draw the attention of the village higher-ups...
Would this young lady Hinata be afraid of that?
Besides, the Byakugan could not control the Nine-Tails anyway.
And besides, Hinata only wanted to beat up the little blond brat, not become friends with him. What was there to fear?
Just as she reached the door, Hinata saw Neji waiting for her outside.
"Hmm! Brother Neji, do you need something?" Hinata asked.
Neji still looked shy, nothing like his cold demeanor in the Original Story. In a soft voice, he said, "Father told me to accompany you."
Oh!
That must have been an order from her bargain-bin father, Hyuga Hiashi!
He probably did not want Hinata making friends with shady people.
Especially Uchiha!
"Fine, then." Hinata nodded and asked, "Did you bring money?"
"A little!"
"Great! Let's go!"
