Demons Attack

The small town fell into a period of calm.

The town had always been rather remote, and few outsiders ever came through.

As for the teachings of those holy servants, others tried to imitate them but failed to learn anything. Everyone's enthusiasm gradually faded as well.

Still, some rumors began to spread among the townsfolk.

After all, the powers used by those three truly did not look like the powers of any righteous faction.

But they were only rumors. No one else could find any evidence.

In the end, everything began to spread in secret.

Such matters could not stir up much of a ripple in the town.

The gradually peaceful little town suddenly welcomed a group of outsiders one day.

They shattered the town's tranquility.

Layers upon layers of dense fog had already gathered outside the town, blocking everyone's vision.

A group of young and strong townsmen stood at the entrance, confronting a group of people.

The people facing the townsfolk were refugees, their clothes torn and their bodies covered in all kinds of grime.

In this era, many cities and towns could suddenly be destroyed, leaving countless people displaced.

There was no shortage of groups fleeing disaster.

Yet encountering refugees was hardly good news for a town like theirs.

The mayor gripped his cane and looked solemnly at the people before him.

The leader was a burly man in ragged clothes that looked like a beggar's rags.

Behind the beggar-like man, those whose clothes barely covered their bodies all kept their heads lowered.

"This place does not welcome you," the mayor said gravely.

Their town could not support so many people, and no one knew what kind of people might be hiding among them.
