The Attack Begins

"You went too far, Malcolm." Claude walked into Malcolm's office.

Allen had indeed been seriously injured. Now that he had been given anesthetic, he had fallen completely asleep.

Having found no suspicious traces, Malcolm could only return to his office.

He had not expected Claude to come looking for him.

Malcolm sneered. "Those master and disciple were suspicious to begin with."

"And does that make you justice?" Claude asked in a deep voice.

Malcolm sneered. "We are doing this for the collective good of all humanity. Aren't you?"

Black currents slowly rose from his body, gathering in his hand to form a black pistol aimed at Claude.

"So, you're the traitor?"

But Malcolm could not understand why the other man had chosen this moment to expose himself.

"I didn't betray humanity. I merely betrayed the Black Church," Claude said slowly.

"What!?" Malcolm's pupils contracted.

In an instant, he thought of a force he had overlooked.

The Church of Light.

"Damn it! The Church of Light is suspected of being involved with the Noah Family, and you still claim you haven't betrayed humanity?"

Malcolm roared.

As for whether the Church of Light truly had ties to Noah, that had nothing to do with the Black Church.

All they needed was to make the accusation stick.

"Who said our Church of Light has anything to do with the Noah Family?"

A voice sounded from behind Claude.

Malcolm's pupils shrank as he looked behind Claude. At some point, figures had appeared throughout the office.

One glance was enough to count them.

There were thirteen in total. Every one of them wore white hooded robes, while only the leader wore no hood.

Malcolm extended both hands forward.

The black currents transformed into pistols that floated before him, all aimed at the people before him.
