Background

The Tianyao Alliance is a major righteous cultivator force whose founding ancestor was the Ancient Sage. The Ancient Saint Fragments are keys to the Ancient Sage's legacy space, demonstrating the importance of this inheritance to the alliance's history 237.

Its stated principles require members to intervene against injustice, protect the weak, and save innocent lives. These ideals are enforced as the alliance's first ironclad rule and underpin its reputation for opposing demons and demonic sects 150 217.

The alliance first intervened directly in Jiang Bei's affairs when Lin Feng and three fellow members arrived to stop Moshā of the Azure Demon Sect from killing him. The four Immortal Realm cultivators held off Moshā's projection until their master could arrive, identifying Jiang Bei as an honored guest whom their master wished to meet 145 146.

The alliance's historical reputation was sufficiently formidable that it could deter the Azure Demon Sect from acting openly against the Da Yun Dynasty while Jiang Bei was away. Its members were therefore expected to serve on dangerous front lines rather than remain secluded in cultivation, with Qin Tianhong explicitly characterizing his disciples as battlefield warriors 147 150.

History

Intervention in the Da Yun Dynasty

Lin Feng and three other Tianyao Alliance members arrived during Moshā's attack on Jiang Bei and the Imperial City. Their sword attacks neutralized Moshā's killing strike, and they fought together to restrain his projection until he withdrew 145 146.

Lin Feng then offered Jiang Bei the Profound Yang Soul Suppression Jade to temporarily suppress the Azure Demon Seal. He invited Jiang Bei to visit the alliance and promised access to the Heavenly Pool, which might remove the seal permanently 146 147.

Jiang Bei traveled with Lin Feng to Tianheng City, entered the alliance headquarters, and met Qin Tianhong, the Kaiyang Battle-Hall Master. Qin accepted Jiang Bei as his personal disciple after judging his conduct, potential, and willingness to fight for the alliance's mission 149 150.

Internal corruption and Shen Zhiqin's coup

The alliance's internal conflicts became apparent when Elder Xie Xuan obstructed medical treatment for the critically injured Qin Tianhong. Xie attempted to force Jiang Bei to humiliate himself before allowing Old Mo to treat Qin; Wen Shiqing later intervened with the Alliance Leader's Token and accused Xie of deliberately obstructing a Prefect's treatment 199 200.

During the Demon Realm war, an order commanded all Tianyao Alliance forces to retreat and abandon Dongyao City. Jiang Bei, Cheng Poyue, and Xiao Zhantian challenged the order because it violated the alliance's oath to protect innocent lives 216 217.

Wen Shiqing later revealed that Shen Zhiqin had colluded with the Demon Lord for centuries, murdered Gu Cangsheng, and ruled through a puppet Alliance Leader. The retreat order was Shen's attempt to leave Dongyao City vulnerable to the demons and remove Jiang Bei as an obstacle 230.

Evidence from the Wu Family confirmed that Shen Zhiqin had formerly been Wu Zhen. The old Tianyao Alliance uniforms worn by Wu Zhen's retainers in a centuries-old recording, together with his appearance and voice, exposed his connection to the alliance and his long-term conspiracy 222 223 230.

Restoration under Jiang Bei

After Shen Zhiqin fled, Jiang Bei, Wen Shiqing, Zhou Yunnan, and Pei Xiu returned to the Tianyao Alliance to purge traitors and restore its leadership 261. They discovered Gu Cangsheng's surviving primordial spirit, which Wen had preserved in the Heaven and Earth Spirit Pond 262.

Gu Cangsheng asked Jiang Bei to lead the weakened alliance temporarily, believing Jiang's strength was necessary to deter opportunists and preserve the alliance's foundation. Jiang Bei accepted the role of Acting Alliance Leader 265.

Following the restoration, Jiang Bei secured the Phoenix Immortal Wood and Mountain Sea Divine Herb required for Gu Cangsheng's Great Fusion Technique. Gu subsequently regained a physical body, though his cultivation had not fully returned, and he nevertheless stood ready to protect the alliance during the Azure Dragon Camp's next assault 298 306 310.

Azure Dragon Camp occupation

While Jiang Bei was absent in the Ten Thousand Mothers Relic, Wan Lu and the Azure Dragon Camp forcibly took control of the Tianyao Alliance. They used alliance soldiers as laborers, searched alliance property, and attempted to absorb the organization into their own camp 294 295 296.

Alliance members refused to submit despite being outmatched. Wen Shiqing, Qin Tianhong, Cheng Poyue, Xiao Zhantian, and other members remained united against Wan Lu's demands 296.

Jiang Bei returned, killed Wan Lu, and rallied the alliance. When the Azure Dragon Camp launched a broader attack, he ordered the alliance to leave Futian Domain and relocate to the Wu Family's hidden space in the Demon Realm 297 298 311.

Wan Qingyang later led the Azure Dragon Camp in personally surrounding the alliance to avenge Wan Lu and force its surrender. Gu Cangsheng confronted him despite his incomplete recovery, and Jiang Bei returned from the Dragon Elephant Grotto-Heaven to defeat Wan Qingyang, kill Chen Bing, and annihilate the attacking Azure Dragon Camp forces with the Five Elements Dharma Wheels 310 311.

Later conflicts

The alliance continued fighting alongside the Vast Void Dragon Clan. Its members were captured by forces of the Fengxian Sacred Dynasty and used as bait to draw Jiang Bei into a trap at the main military camp 336 340.

During the battle at the camp, Tianyao Alliance forces fought beside the Vast Void Dragon Clan against Yuan Fan's soldiers, Gao Wanfeng, and Pei Chenyuan's forces 345. Jiang Bei refused to abandon the captured members, while Long Zhenhai arranged a solution for sheltering the alliance after their rescue 336 348.

The alliance later joined the Vast Void Dragon Clan in attacking the Treading Spirit Sect under Jiang Bei's command 368. Afterward, both forces reorganized on Divine Fire Island before departing together for the Tiannan Realm 381.

Upon returning from Tiannan to the God Realm, Jiang Bei brought the Tianyao Alliance alongside the Vast Void Dragon Clan and Dusk Ancient Clan. To avoid detection near Tianheng City, he placed the alliance members in a separate Cang City location under Gu Cangsheng's leadership 432.
