At that moment, Abram Tarasov, stationed at the repair shop, had just gathered all his men. Looking at the nearly hundred underlings below, all armed with guns, he nodded in satisfaction.
Then he waved his hand.
"Move out!"
In an instant, everyone turned in unison and got into the cars. Engines started, and one sedan after another drove out of the repair shop. A full twenty vehicles formed a convoy and headed grandly toward the outskirts of Brooklyn.
Abram Tarasov was accompanied by three burly men in suits. They were his bodyguards, and they escorted him into a Cadillac sport utility vehicle. The vehicle slowly started up and departed with the convoy.
He wanted to see which gang had grown so bold that they dared attack the Russian mob at a time like this.
After clearing out all the guards, Charlotte Doyle finally stopped to examine the basement level.
The basement level was not large, but an iron door divided it into two areas. One was where Charlotte Doyle had just fought, while the other was packed with rows of boxes.
After glancing at the iron door, Charlotte discovered that it required a password to open. He placed his right hand on the keypad lock, and lightning flashed across his hand the next moment.
The keypad lock was instantly ruined, and the iron door opened.
He stepped into the room and looked at the boxes before him. Charlotte Doyle casually picked one and opened it. The moment the lid came up, it felt as though the entire room had turned golden.
That was right. It was a box of gold. Gold bars were neatly stacked inside. Charlotte casually took one out and examined it in his hand.
He pressed his fingers into the gold bar, leaving an imprint. After testing its hardness and color, he confirmed that it was real gold, not fake.
He tossed the gold back into the box and opened another one beside it.
This box was filled with jewelry, diamonds, and similar items. The sapphire at the very top was especially dazzling. Charlotte picked it up and weighed it in his hand. It weighed over a hundred grams.
After checking two boxes in a row, Charlotte Doyle became curious about the rest. He counted them and found that twenty boxes remained unopened.
Could they all be filled with gold and jewelry? The Russian mob is way too rich.
Charlotte Doyle opened another Treasure Chest. What greeted his eyes was stacks of green US Dollars—bundles of ten-dollar bills, all tied up and neatly arranged in the box.
Looking at the bills, all of which were only ten-dollar denominations, Charlotte Doyle felt somewhat disappointed. The box was not small, but with only ten-dollar bills, how much could it really add up to?
Still, in the United States, cash used for circulation was indeed mainly in ten-dollar denominations. If someone tried to spend a huge pile of hundred-dollar bills, the police would definitely be called and an investigation launched.
No longer dwelling on it, Charlotte Doyle opened every remaining box. He found that all of them contained US Dollars, with nothing else inside. There were no jewelry pieces, luxury watches, or anything of the sort. There was not even any gold, the hard currency. There were a full twenty Treasure Chests containing US Dollars, though he did not yet know the total amount.
Looking at the twenty-two Treasure Chests before him, anyone else might have worried about how to silently take away so many boxes alone. But for Charlotte Doyle, none of that was a problem. After all, his copper coin could be exchanged both ways.
He placed his hand on the money and silently thought, Recharge.
In an instant, all the cash in the boxes vanished. On the Naruto Panel in his mind, the number under copper coin rapidly began to rise, stopping after only three breaths.
The copper coin count was now 4.2 million. Of that, 200,000 copper coins had come from his previous mission, so this haul amounted to four million US Dollars.
Twenty boxes, two hundred thousand in cash per box, for a total of four million.
Charlotte Doyle was extremely satisfied with the gains from this operation. He had cleaned up some social scum and obtained a hefty sum of money. This payoff was far higher than John Wick's bounty. More importantly, he did not need to give The Continental Hotel a cut. Besides repairing his car, he could also upgrade his Ninja Dog. After all, upgrading a Summoned Beast consumed far too many Copper Coins.
As for the other two Treasure Chests containing gold and jewelry, he put them into the Storage Space provided by the system.
Once he had finished everything, Charlotte Doyle released the Transformation Jutsu and turned to walk out of the building. A red Ferrari 458 was parked on the road outside. Charlotte Doyle raised an eyebrow slightly, walked over, opened the passenger-side door, and got in.
"My Golden Secretary, you came at just the right time. I was just wondering how the hell I was supposed to get a cab in this place."
Charlotte Doyle looked at the blonde beauty before him and spoke with a smile as he shut the door.
"As a reward for you, I have a little gift to give you."
The sapphire he had just put into the Storage Space reappeared in his hand the next moment.
Seeing the sapphire in Charlotte Doyle's hand, even larger than a pigeon egg, Ginny's eyes instantly gleamed with brilliant light, like a greedy dragon spotting treasure.
"Boss, you're far too generous!"
Ginny threw her arms around Charlotte Doyle, gave him a big fragrant kiss, and only then took the sapphire from his hand.
"Boss, does this sapphire have a name?"
Charlotte wiped the red lipstick mark from his face. Looking at the smiling blonde beauty, he finally said, "You can give it any name you like. After all, you're its owner now."
Hearing that even her Boss did not know the Gem's original name, Ginny felt a little disappointed.
Seeing this, Charlotte Doyle swallowed. This was too stimulating. The place where this Gem had been stored was far too alluring.
Hearing him swallow, Ginny smiled and said, "Boss, I've already arranged for someone to send your Mercedes-Benz in for repairs. They'll contact you once it's fixed."
"Are you going back to the Charlotte Agency now, or to the Chrysler Building?"
Charlotte Doyle nodded, very satisfied with Jane's work, then said slowly, "Take me back to the Chrysler Building!"
Upon hearing Charlotte mention the Chrysler Building, Jane said nothing more. She started the car and stepped on the accelerator. The Ferrari instantly sped into the distance.
Just after the car left, the weather outside changed.
Raindrops began falling from the sky. One drop, two drops, three drops—within moments, the light rain turned into a torrential downpour.
Looking at the rain pouring down beyond the window, Charlotte Doyle's thoughts drifted far away. Viggo was finally about to die at John's hands!
