Top Talent (Guaranteed 40006000)
The conference room door opened, and a burly Russia man with long hair and a beard walked in.
As Ivan Vanko entered the conference room, he immediately took in the people in the room, noting that one side of the round table was predominantly white, while the other side was entirely Asian.
The fact that the Asian group included women and children, and quite a few children at that—three in total—made Ivan frown slightly.
On his way here, he heard that today was a meeting of the organization's high-ranking members, and it turned out that one of the high-ranking members had three children...
Across the round table, Charlotte looked at the man who walked in and said, "Ivan Vanko's father, Anton Vanko, collaborated with Howard Stark many years ago to invent the primitive arc reactor technology. The two had different views on developing this new technology: Anton wanted to use it for military purposes and to make money through industry, while Howard wanted to use the new technology to benefit humanity."
"Subsequently, Anton was deported for some reason and returned to the Soviet Union, where he lived in a dirty and chaotic environment."
"He was convicted of treason in Moscow and has been detained ever since, unable to leave or engage in scientific research."
"Wesley said you're a mechanical genius. What do you want from me, and what can I possibly get in return?"
Hearing the man at the head of the round table casually state his family's information, Ivan Vanko showed no surprise. However, upon hearing the reason for his father's expulsion, he still retorted:
"Howard is a fraud. He was in charge of the research and development with my father, and then ousted him after the results were achieved. That's unfair to us."
Charlotte paid no attention to Ivan Vanko's explanation. A person who had been instilled with certain ideas by his father since childhood was unlikely to face the truth because of a few words from others.
Moreover, Charlotte Doyle didn't have any actual evidence at the time; she only knew the cause and outcome of the events.
"Ivan Vanko, answer my question: what do you want, and what can you offer me?"
Seeing that the other person didn't seem to care about his words, Ivan Vanko felt a little irritated. He wanted to tell the person how Howard had taken away his father's research results and how he had suppressed his family afterwards, but in the end, he suppressed the impulse.
"I need a Laboratory and funding to conduct research. I want to prove to the world that the Vanko Family is no weaker than the Stark Family."
"Sir, could you provide a computer? I'd like to use it to present my research."
Upon hearing that Ivan Vanko needed a computer, Ginny immediately got up and led Ivan to the control area of the conference room, where there was a computer connected to the electronic screen in the conference room.
Soon the electronic screen lit up, and Ivan Vanko plugged the hard drive into the computer, opened a PowerPoint presentation, and began his presentation.
The item in the PowerPoint presentation was none other than a research document that Anton Vanko had brought back: the Giant Arc Reactor.
Ivan Vanko tried his best to explain, focusing on the device's power supply, clean energy, and future development prospects. Since he hadn't seen Iron Man or the shrunken Arc Reactor yet, Ivan hadn't considered the miniaturization of the device.
After all, he had never successfully built a large one, and he had no idea whatsoever about a small one.
Watching Ivan Vanko speak eloquently, Charlotte didn't interrupt. Instead, she observed his performance until he had finished speaking. Then, Charlotte said, "I've seen this thing at Stark Industries Tower."
"If you're just making it for your own use, it's not a big problem. But if you want to promote it commercially and charge for it, have you thought about the patent issues?"
Charlotte's patent statement left Ivan Vanko speechless.
Although this project was developed jointly by his father and Howard, their family did not actually hold any patent rights.
Charlotte didn't forget to add insult to injury, "Besides, your thing is already outdated."
"That's outdated," Ivan Vanko exclaimed. "Impossible! Absolutely impossible!"
"When I came here, I learned that Stark Industries hadn't made a breakthrough in this technology for decades."
Seeing the agitated Ivan Vanko, Charlotte shrugged, unconcerned, and spoke again, "Ivan Vanko, if it's just about this technology, then I can only apologize."
Even if it could produce second or third generation Mark Armor, something that couldn't generate profit wouldn't be of interest to Charlotte. What she needed wasn't low-end Mark Series, but money that could be exchanged for copper coins in US dollars, and items that could be recharged.
Clearly, Ivan Vanko didn't have these things...
Hearing that Charlotte didn't seem to care about the Arc Reactor technology, Ivan Vanko considered his own skills. He realized that although he was capable, he didn't currently have anything particularly impressive to offer, but he still spoke up:
"Sir, although I don't have any other research achievements at the moment, I believe that if you give me the opportunity, I will bring you what you want."
Hearing Ivan Vanko's confident tone, Charlotte smiled and then asked, "I want an artificial intelligence. Can you develop one?"
"Note that I'm talking about artificial intelligence, not artificial stupidity."
Charlotte thought of her feelings in Tony's Villa. If she could also have a fully-fledged artificial intelligence, then Charlotte wouldn't mind taking in Ivan Vanko, this guy who was destined to cause trouble in the future.
Upon hearing Charlotte mention artificial intelligence, Ivan opened his mouth, but finally said helplessly, "Sir, my expertise lies in mechanical technology; I have no experience in artificial intelligence."
Charlotte was somewhat disappointed to hear that Ivan Vanko wasn't good at artificial intelligence, and then said:
"Wesley, give him some money. Don't let Mr. Ivan Vanko make a wasted trip!"
Upon hearing Charlotte's rejection of Ivan Vanko, Wesley could only look at her apologetically before getting up and leaving the conference room with Ivan.
After watching Ivan Vanko leave the meeting room, Charlotte continued, "If anyone wants to recommend someone to join, that's fine too."
"We have many positions: High Table Envoy in combat, the Hotel Weaponry R&D Department in technology research and development, and physicians in the medical field."
"But if you want to enter this meeting room, you must have the ability that I approve of."
Charlotte paused for a moment, then looked at everyone and said, "Whether it's martial prowess or technology, I need top-notch talent."
Even Wesley and Carlos are capable of using Bullet Time and running across two buildings, and even John Wick has strength comparable to Hawkeye.
