I am Iron Man
Hearing that Shizune had already eaten, Charlotte didn't extend another invitation. Instead, she went to the Dining Area and asked a waiter to prepare breakfast for her.
Charlotte ate her breakfast while watching the television hanging on the wall.
"The Cole James Rudd Stark Industries incident!" This was the official statement regarding last night's events.
"According to unconfirmed reports, a prototype robot malfunctioned, causing considerable damage."
Fortunately, one of Tony Stark's personal bodyguards used Stark's top-secret technology to avert the danger...
Watching Colonel Rhodes speak eloquently on TV, Charlotte took a bite of her sandwich, but paid no attention to what Rhodey was saying; she was waiting for Tony to appear.
······
On the other side.
In the backstage room of the press conference, Pepper Potts was touching up Tony's makeup.
Tony glanced at the newspaper and chuckled, "Iron Man, that's an interesting name."
Looking at his picture in the newspaper, wearing the Mark III armor and standing on the street. "I really look cool!"
"But why haven't I seen any reports about Charlotte Doyle?"
"Didn't you get a picture?"
Tony asked curiously.
Coulson walked over and said, "He was so fast, the fight lasted less than two seconds from start to finish. Maybe no passersby filmed it."
"This is your alibi, Tony."
"OK."
Tony put down his newspaper and took what Coulson handed him.
After watching Tony take the note, Coulson continued, "You were on the yacht at the time, the port authority confirms that you were anchored in Avalon Port all night, and there are also testimonies from 50 guests."
Tony looked at what he was holding and said, "It's more accurate to say that it was just Pepper and me on the island that night."
Coulson said expressionlessly, "We can't fake it. Just read it aloud."
Tony raised an eyebrow upon hearing Coulson's words.
You can't fake it? Are you serious, Mr. Agent?
After checking what he was holding, Tony asked in surprise, "Obadiah wasn't mentioned?"
"We took care of it; he went on vacation. You know, small planes are really unsafe."
"But how do you explain a bodyguard who was made up out of thin air? He is me."
"I mean, how do you explain this weak point?"
"And what about Charlotte Doyle? Actually, he defeated Obadiah, although I'm confident I could defeat him too."
"But, as you know, Charlotte was more powerful back then and solved the problem much faster."
Coulson didn't directly answer Tony's question, but instead said, "You know, this isn't the first time we've done something like this."
"As long as you follow the official statement, everything will be fine."
You only have 90 seconds.
After saying that, Coulson turned and left.
Watching Coulson leave, Pepper Potts quickly caught up and immediately expressed her gratitude, saying, "Agent Coulson, I sincerely thank you for your help; I am deeply grateful."
Coulson smiled. "It's what I should do."
There will be more collaborations in the future.
Pepper Potts thought for a moment and then said, "Your homeland strategic defense attack and..."
Hearing the other person's somewhat hesitant pronunciation of the name, Coulson interrupted, "It's now simply called S.H.I.E.L.D.."
"Great, that's a good name."
Coulson smiled, then turned and left.
Seeing Coulson leave, Pepper Potts turned around, picked up her suit jacket from the sofa, and said, "It's your turn, Tony."
Tony looked at the movie in his hand, walked over, and said, "Looks like faking it isn't that hard, even though I don't believe I'm Iron Man."
Pepper Potts helped Tony put on his suit jacket, saying, "You're certainly not Iron Man."
"I am."
"Fine, whatever you want."

At the press conference, Rhodey announced, "Mr. Stark has prepared a statement, but he will not answer any questions. Thank you!"
At this moment, Tony walked onto the podium and looked at the sea of reporters sitting below.
"I haven't been out of the public eye for a while, so I'll just read from the prepared script."
Charlotte leaned back in her chair, watching Tony Stark appear on television, a smile on her face.
"Some people speculate that I was involved in the incident that occurred on the expressway and in the industrial park."
At this moment, a reporter Tony recognized interrupted, "Excuse me, Mr. Stark."
"Do you really think we'd easily believe that a bodyguard in armor just happened to appear at the perfect moment, when the truth is usually..."
Tony stared at the beautiful reporter in front of him, with whom he had a brief affair, and chuckled, "I know what you mean. There's nothing wrong with questioning the official stance."
"But no one should make unfounded assumptions or label me a superhero without reason."
Christine immediately raised her hand and said, "I didn't say you were a superhero."
"No?"
"That's good, that would be absurd."
"That's outrageous!"
"I, I, I'm not cut out to be a superhero. It's obvious I have too many personality flaws, I've done too many wrong things, and it's had a bad influence."
Seeing Tony rambling on and on, Rhodey quickly leaned close to Tony's ear and reminded him, "Just read from the script, don't say anything else."
Tony held the manuscript and carefully read its contents.
"In fact."
Tony paused, put down his manuscript, and then said, "I am Iron Man."
Tony's answer caused an uproar in the room.
"Are you serious? You're saying you're Iron Man?"
"Mr. Stark, why did you admit to how you made that armor?"
At this moment, countless reporters were asking Tony questions about the armor, the Iron Monger, and other issues, but Christine stood up and said loudly, "Tony, sir."
"According to my latest information, you weren't the one who dealt with that giant robot, were you?"
The room fell silent instantly after Christine spoke.
Countless media personnel turned their gaze to Christine, the reporter sitting at the very front. After all, this news was also incredibly explosive, no less so than the Tony was Iron Man.
As they spoke, Christine produced a photograph and said, "Mr. Tony, according to an eyewitness, it was a person without any armor—the person in the photograph I have—who defeated that giant robot, is that right?"
In a corner of the press conference room, Coulson slapped his forehead, thinking to himself with frustration, "Damn it, someone actually took a picture."
