Retreat
In the command vehicle, Crossbones saw Duby's men use Grenade Launcher and immediately said, "Werewolf can be dead, but Jane must be alive."
Duby spoke to a nearby monitor, saying, "Jane is no longer in the house."
"According to the thermal imaging, Jane and one of the other individuals disappeared from the house the instant the attack occurred."
Hearing that Jane had been rescued by someone, Crossbones breathed a sigh of relief. If that shot had killed Jane, they wouldn't have survived unless Thor disappeared.
It doesn't matter if I lose my own life, but if it leads to the exposure of the organization's affairs, then I would be guilty even if I were to die a thousand deaths.
"As long as Jane is alright!"
······
Moses glanced back at the destroyed house behind him, his face turning grim. The next second, he stood up and, with a roar, transformed into Werewolf. His entire body became exceptionally burly and enormous, but his suit, made of a special material, did not burst; instead, it grew larger as Moses grew.
"Awoo!"
With a howl from Moses, Sari and Lyle exchanged a glance and also transformed into Werewolf.
Moses, now Werewolf, led Sari and Lyle in a zigzag run towards the armored vehicle in the distance.
Because of the darkness, the Task Force members in the armored vehicles and off-road vehicles couldn't clearly see the transformation of the three people in the distance. However, seeing the three approaching at an incredible speed, they immediately took control of the machine guns on the vehicles and opened fire on them in an X-shaped crossfire.
"Da-da-da!"
The two machine guns spun, their flames dazzling in the darkness, and the resulting Metal Storm was terrifying. Cars and streetlights parked along the road were riddled with holes under the machine gun fire.
With his enhanced strength, Moses was not afraid of the machine gun fire. His speed allowed him to dodge a large number of bullets. Although one or two bullets occasionally hit him and penetrated his bulletproof vest, they did not cause much damage to Moses ' body.
However, Sari and Lyle behind them were not so lucky; they were knocked to the ground by machine gun fire.
At this moment, Moses was very close to the armored vehicle. Seeing the machine gun aimed at him again, Moses crouched down and then leaped more than ten meters high, showing his Werewolf nature against the backdrop of the moon.
Moses leaped high into the air, landing directly on the SUV. He grabbed the machine gunner beside him and threw him off the vehicle. Then, he killed the SUV driver with a single claw strike. The ammunition handler next to him had just drawn his pistol but hadn't had a chance to attack before Moses snapped his neck.
The three special forces personnel in the off-road vehicle were all wiped out. Moses immediately turned the machine gun around, pointed the barrel at the armored vehicle next to him, and pulled the trigger.
"Da-da-da!"
The heavy machine gun bullets tore through the armor of the armored vehicle. At such close range, the armored vehicle was riddled with holes before it could even react.
After emptying the machine gun, the armored vehicle stopped moving. But to ensure everything went smoothly, Moses took a few grenades from the bodies of the Task Force members, jumped onto the top of the armored vehicle, opened the hatch, threw the grenades in, and then jumped away.
"Boom!"
Just as Moses jumped off the armored vehicle, the grenade exploded inside, shaking the vehicle and rendering it completely wrecked. All the enemies inside were killed.
······
On the command vehicle.
Duby and Crossbones watched the video on the screen. Although it was nighttime and the image wasn't very clear, they could still understand the general plot.
The two men exchanged a glance, then looked at each other in dismay. Duby swallowed hard and said, "Retreat. Call for backup again."
"Their strength is far more exaggerated than we imagined."
At this point, Crossbones and Duby had more than ten agents under their command, but they had no chance of winning against the Werewolf in front of them.
"It seems we underestimated this group of Werewolf. However, with their current strength, they are definitely no match for our next encirclement and annihilation."
Crossbones shared his opinion, and Duby nodded in agreement before saying, "Retreat!"
At Duby's command, the command vehicle slowly reversed.
······
Moses turned and glanced into the distance. He sensed the movement of the car, but only looked in that direction and did not chase after it to investigate.
Moses walked over to Laixi and Sari, and saw them lying on the ground, blood flowing from their bodies.
"You're not dead yet!"
He then picked up one person with each hand and walked towards the bombed-out house.
The two Werewolf held by Moses also deactivated their transformations. Their bulletproof vests were torn apart by bullets, leaving them with numerous penetrating wounds.
"Captain, we've let you down."
Moses shook his head. "You are all my teammates, don't say that again."
"After this mission, your strength will all increase."
Moses carried the two men into the ruins of the holiday village, found the entrance to the underground Safe House, and went inside.
Jane looked somewhat flustered as she watched Moses carrying two team members; the bombardment had been quite loud just now.
"They're not in any life-threatening danger, are they?"
"No!"
Moses put the two men down on the ground and said, "Yaan, check them to see if there are any bullets left in their bodies."
"Yes!"
After assigning the two team members, Moses looked at the three bullets lodged in his chest. He saw the muscles in his chest twitch, and the three bullets were pushed out and fell to the ground.
The wound on his chest healed at a speed visible to the naked eye, and in less than a minute, there was no trace of the injury.
However, the Werewolf's attack this time used standard military-grade Negasonic Teenage Warhead, so the damage to the Werewolf was not significant.
Even a silver Negasonic Teenage Warhead posed no problem for Moses, who had been enhanced by Alexander's bloodline. However, his team members would likely have been killed, but thankfully that didn't happen.
Yaan removed the Negasonic Teenage Warhead from the two team members' bodies, and they quickly recovered.
Soon the sun rose from the horizon, the darkness was broken and the world was restored to light, but not a single resident of the town came out of their house, for the commotion earlier had been too frightening.
Moses took out his phone and dialed Ginny's number; he needed to report the situation.
