The Final Payment
Seeing Iruka leave, Kingpin took out an envelope, placed it on the table, and said, "Charlotte, this is your final payment."
Charlotte Doyle picked up the envelope, opened it, and found a Swiss bank card inside, with the PIN posted on the back.
At this moment Kingpin spoke up, saying, "The card contains the remaining funds from the commissioned mission; there are one billion US dollars in it, which can be withdrawn at any time."
Charlotte smiled, put the card in her pocket, and said, "If you ever need a similar request in the future, please remember to contact me."
Kingpin laughed heartily, "Charlotte, a 2 billion commission is something I can't afford to do more than a few times."
Charlotte picked up a glass from the table and said, "Let's celebrate the perfect completion of the mission with a drink."
Kingpin and Bullseye also picked up their glasses and took a sip.
Kingpin put down his glass, looked at Charlotte Doyle in front of him, and slowly said, "Charlotte, the Hand has been wiped out. Now, how about you take over their factory business?"
Upon hearing Kingpin mention Madame Gao's Blind Man's Factory, Charlotte Doyle shook her head and said, "Kingpin, you know me. I'm not interested in those kinds of businesses."
Hearing Charlotte's refusal, Kingpin showed no surprise and continued, "What about Hell's Kitchen?"
As Kingpin finished speaking, the air in the Rest Area seemed to freeze instantly.
Kingpin stared intently at Charlotte's expression, wanting to know if this man was also interested in Hell's Kitchen.
Charlotte leaned back in her chair and slowly said, "Kingpin, I'm not interested in Hell's Kitchen. It's chaotic and disorganized."
"Although your presence has made the gangs in Hell's Kitchen much more restrained, it cannot be denied that it is still one of the most chaotic neighborhoods in all of New York."
"As for me, I'm not very interested in managing a gang, otherwise my territory, under the High Table, wouldn't just be the United States."
When he heard Charlotte say she wasn't interested, Kingpin didn't detect any falsehood on her face and secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
"But."
Charlotte's "but" made Kingpin just settled, jump again.
Charlotte continued, "But I might need several buildings in Hell's Kitchen; I need to find something."
"If the people of the High Table show up in Hell's Kitchen, I hope you won't misunderstand."
Kingpin and said, "No problem. I don't know what kind of building you need. If it's under my name, I can make the decision and give it to you directly."
Charlotte shook her head and said, "It might need one building, or it might need three. I'm not sure yet, but the owner of the building has absolutely nothing to do with you."
Upon learning that the property wasn't in his name, Kingpin didn't try to show off by offering to give it away. Instead, he said, "Then I wish you success in finding your belongings."
After speaking, Kingpin raised his glass again.
Charlotte saw Kingpin raise his glass, so she also picked up her whiskey and said, "Thank you!"
After the three finished their whiskeys, Kingpin, with Bullseye, got up to take his leave.
Watching Kingpin leave, Charlotte Doyle did not get up to see him off, but instead sat in the Rest Area.
Charlotte took out her phone, dialed a number, and said directly, "Ginny, the money is in place. We'll start acquiring the first unfinished building now."
"I hope to acquire the building from the Rand Enterprises as quickly as possible, and then begin excavation immediately."
"If the first building doesn't have what I need, then immediately begin the acquisition of the second apartment building."
After giving his instructions to Golden Secretary, Charlotte Doyle poured himself another glass of whiskey. Just as he picked up his glass, Iruka appeared beside him and said, "Lord Charlotte, the FBI agents from last time are here again."
IFB? Charlotte was a little surprised, but then she realized it was Phil Coulson from the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division.
"Iruka, remove those two cups from the table, then bring the other person over here."
"Yes, Lord Charlotte." Iruka stepped forward, took away the two empty wine glasses from the table, and then walked over with Phil Coulson.
Phil Coulson walked over and sat down in the chair opposite Charlotte, the same chair Kingpin had just been sitting in.
Seeing Coulson sit down, Charlotte raised her glass and said, "Would you like a drink?"
Charlotte was polite in her words, but she didn't offer Coulson a glass.
"No, Mr. Charlotte, I don't drink alcohol during working hours."
Charlotte took a sip of her whiskey and said, "Fine, whatever you say."
"What brings you here this time?"
Coulson looked at Charlotte with his signature smile and said, "Mr. Charlotte, there are some details I need to discuss with you regarding your successful rescue of Tony Stark."
Charlotte looked at Coulson and retorted, "Shouldn't you be talking to Tony Stark about this?"
"As the person in charge of this matter, you should be able to get more accurate information."
"Besides, this matter shouldn't fall under the jurisdiction of the FBI."
Upon hearing Charlotte's words, Coulson took out a Business Card, placed it on the table, and pushed it in front of Charlotte Doyle, saying, "I am Agent Coulson, from the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division."
"Our main focus is on things like Tony Stark, so we need to gather some information. We hope you can cooperate."
Charlotte picked up the Business Card on the table and glanced at it. There was a unique mark printed on the back of the Business Card.
After putting down the Business Card, Charlotte said, "Don't you guys ever consider simplifying your long and tedious names?"
Coulson smiled and said, "It's been simplified further. I'm sure you'll see our new name when we meet next time."
"No, I don't want to see you agents again."
Looking at Coulson in front of her, Charlotte teased, "I remember last time you were an FBI agent, how come you're now an agent of the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division?"
"Did you switch jobs? Or are you making this up?"
After Charlotte's comment, Coulson remained outwardly calm, but inwardly felt somewhat embarrassed. He then placed his FBI badge on the table and said, "Mr. Charlotte, our department is a bit special; we handle special cases and sometimes use the FBI's connections to get things done domestically."
Looking at the FBI credentials Coulson produced, Charlotte sighed inwardly: The FBI is really pathetic; people are always impersonating them.
