He had once figured that even if he did nothing and left everything to run itself,
the Illusion Realms already in operation would bring him a steady stream of Demonic Value every day.
That, of course, had been his thinking until recently.
Since the Fragment of the Heavenly Dao had opened up network access to Illusion Realms, things had changed.
One obvious threat was—
players being drawn away.
If those old fossils made even a few passable Illusion Realms, they were bound to take a share of his players.
So he had to keep releasing new Illusion Realms to compete for a limited pool of players.

Lu Ze closed his eyes slightly and took stock of his gaming empire.

Before making it, even Lu Ze had not expected emotional reactions to yield such enormous returns.
After all, dying in an Illusion Realm was different from dying in reality. The return was probably only a hundredth, or even a thousandth, as much;
but grief in an Illusion Realm was no different from grief in reality.
Someone with a remarkable constitution like Li Moran's could even generate twice the Demonic Value. The returns were staggering.
If he had known negative emotions paid better than killing players outright, Lu Ze would have served up a whole stack of tearjerkers ages ago...
At the thought, Lu Ze felt as though he had missed out
