Background / History

During the Righteous-Demonic War, Sky Profound Gate sacrificed the lifespans and fortune of several generations of Sect Masters to borrow the Fragment’s power. It twisted cause and effect to create chances for the Righteous Path, contributing to improbable victories and the rise of several sects. The intervention accumulated enormous karma, however, and also drained Sky Profound Gate’s own fortune. 116

After a thousand years of karmic erosion, the Fragment became unstable and close to collapse. Sky Profound Gate sealed it beneath the Council Hall on Sky Profound Mountain, where it appeared as a murky light orb surrounded by incomplete golden runes. Its destruction would cause the sect to be consumed by ancient karma and turn the area into a dead zone. 116

Chi Shengtian revealed the Fragment to Lu Ze because of a three-hundred-year-old Celestial Decree identifying Lu Ze as the possible key to Sky Profound Gate’s survival. Lu Ze proposed creating an Illusion Realm that could both satisfy the Fragment and let it repay karma through conflicts and deaths within the game world. 116 117

Lu Ze created Spirit Qi Revival, a Minecraft-based world built around mutable block construction, Redstone-like logic, command blocks, and mod editing. The Fragment absorbed its underlying knowledge almost instantly and was astonished by the limitless worlds it could derive from the system. It subsequently entered the world as the player “I Am the Heavenly Dao.” 119 120

The Fragment temporarily escaped its immediate karmic danger by entering the main world of Minecraft, allowing Sky Profound Gate to stop fearing its imminent destruction. Lu Ze granted it administrator permissions, then gradually demonstrated that competitive game modes could produce enough repeated player deaths to address its karma. 121 155

After Lu Ze promised further game modes and opportunities to participate in them, the Fragment agreed to serve as the Heavenly Dao Server. A Divine Sense Resonance Array spanning the Cultivation World was later constructed with its assistance and that of Sky Profound Gate. 138 165

The Fragment has no fixed body and manifests differently inside and outside Illusion Realms.

It is intensely arrogant, habitually calling cultivators “ants” and treating the spiritual energy it grants them as a privilege. It reacts violently to insults against the Heavenly Dao, but insists that it is not a person and should not be judged as one. 143 149 285

Despite its pride, it is highly curious about unfamiliar rules and worlds. Lu Ze’s game concepts—especially extreme-survival scenarios, civilization conflicts, and competitive modes—interest it because they create hardship, conflict, and repeated deaths. 131
