The "Dragon Knight" and the "Magical Power" bar activated by it seemed to have effects not explained on the panel.
Whether in his past life or now.
He had never had such strong leadership.
But now, his words and actions were filled with a convincing and approachable aura.
Could this wand have somehow stolen the charming demeanor of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table?
Was this also why Harry was so fawning over him, and so filial at this moment?
Even Ron forgot his inferiority complex.
However, it was also possible that the novel and the movie had different settings.
He vaguely remembered that the younger of the twin sisters, the one who preferred the Harry Potter novels, had once said that Hermione's brilliance in the movie was due to her being given the highlight scenes of Harry and Ron from the novel.
As expected, after getting familiar with each other, Ron was spewing all sorts of slang and customs of the British wizarding world, without repeating himself.
Even Basil, who was considered a native-born British young wizard, was amazed.
Harry also became much more familiar with the wizarding world because of this.
However, Ron's greatest expertise was in his knowledge of snacks.
He knew the origin and how to eat every kind of snack like the back of his hand.
The many flavors of Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans: chocolate, mint, orange marmalade, spinach, toast, coconut, baked beans, strawberry, curry, liver, tripe, pepper, grass, sardines, dried snot, and so on.
Ron could accurately identify them by the appearance of the beans.
This made Harry incredibly impressed.
But gradually, Basil also discovered a flaw in Ron.
Once his mouth opened, it couldn't be closed.
After introducing all sorts of snacks, especially Chocolate Frogs, his talking didn't stop.
"Harry, Basil, come, try these sandwiches my mum made! They're dry, fragrant, and salty! Have a taste!"
"My family are all wizards too, and I'm the second youngest in the family."
"But there's a downside to that, my clothes, wand, and textbooks are all hand-me-downs!"
"Even my pet—" Ron put down his licorice wand and reached into his inner jacket pocket, pulling out a fat, sleeping grey mouse, "—is inherited from Percy. His name is Scabbers, and he's been with my family for almost 11 years."
He casually played with Scabbers' fat belly, his expression gradually turning gloomy.
Scabbers cooperatively narrowed his eyes and grunted.
"Here, your licorice wand!" Basil quickly handed it over.
It was too much to bear!
Ron, who had just been gloomy, instantly relaxed when he had something in his mouth.
His hand also moved away from Scabbers' belly.
"Thanks, um, wait," Ron suddenly got stuck. He looked Basil up and down, as if seeing him for the first time, "Your surname is Granger? And Holbeim Forest is in Devon, right?"
Basil was a little confused, "Yes, what's wrong?"
"My family is also in Devon!" Ron jumped up. Scabbers was tossed into the pile of snacks by him.
"Are you the young wizard who killed the werewolf Fenrir Greyback in the Daily Prophet?"
"My mother hasn't let us go out for a month because of you."
"I dare say, my mother was so angry just now all because of this—me leaving her sight without permission."
"Killed someone?" Harry, who was stuffing Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans into his mouth, almost choked.
Outside the compartment door, a sudden sound of terrified sobbing could be heard.
Basil pulled open the door and saw a round-faced boy.
He stood frozen at the door, his face pale, covered in sweat beads the size of rice grains, trembling.
Seeing the door open, he ran without looking back.
Basil's forehead was covered in black lines, and he closed the door again.
"It seems he heard."
Basil lowered his voice and looked at Harry sinisterly.
Harry, however, chuckled, "You almost fooled me!"
When it came to observing people's expressions, he was very confident.
Ron's tone was more of surprise than fear.
"Tell me, what's going on?"
Basil said irritably, "Don't listen to the Daily Prophet, it's just a third-rate newspaper!"
"That werewolf was killed by a tree! One my grandfather planted."
"That's still impressive!" Ron said with awe. "Fenrir Greyback is the most vicious werewolf alive today."
"He makes it his mission to bite and infect as many people as possible, wanting to create a large werewolf army to defeat wizards."
"The Dark Lord also promised him some prey as a reward."
"Greyback specializes in children, biting them when they're young, then taking them away from their parents to raise them to hate wizards."
At this point, Ron couldn't help but shiver. "It's said that the Dark Lord often threatens to release Greyback to bite people's children, and this threat is usually very effective."
"When you say the Dark Lord, do you mean Voldemort?" Harry tilted his head curiously.
"You said his name!" Ron exclaimed, looking both shocked and moved. "I knew it, of all people you..."
Basil said earnestly, "Actually, Harry, if Voldemort were still alive, I would advise you not to say his name. He's placed a charm on that name. Anyone who speaks it will be detected by him."
Harry asked doubtfully, "So now?"
Basil replied, "Now you can say it freely. Call him Voldemort. Always use the correct name for things. Fear of a name only increases fear of the thing itself."
Ron cleared his throat. "I'll try it. Volde... I mean, Voldemort! Phew! I said it!"
Unbeknownst to him, Scabbers, in the pile of snacks, had a frightful accident.
Basil gagged.
He had no intention of touching those snacks again.
Ron, seemingly oblivious, pulled out another licorice wand, preparing to bite it.
At the critical moment, just as Basil was about to be overcome by his conscience and remind Ron, Swish, the compartment door opened.
A girl who looked somewhat familiar appeared before his eyes.
She had already changed into her Hogwarts black robes.
The next second, Basil flipped through his memories, finding the corresponding face.
Hmm, not a bad person, a helpful one!
However, she looked furious.
She seemed to have run over in one go, panting heavily, her large front teeth rubbing together, making huff, huff sounds.
She looked like a little beaver puffing out its cheeks, very cute.
[Scourgify]
Basil admired the scene while quietly pointing his finger at the licorice wand in Ron's hand and cast a Scourgify charm.
This was another use of the [Wand Appearance] component.
As long as it wasn't materialized, the wand would always move within Basil's body with his 'Magical Power'.
He could move his wand to his finger, acting as a house-elf using his finger as a wand.
"Did you bully Neville?"
"I thought you were a good person!"
"Your reading list must have been a lie too!"
"I'm going to tell the teacher!" The beaver-girl stared intently at Basil with her deep brown eyes.
"You crazy girl!"
"We never even went out!" Ron stood up, blocking the space between Basil and the girl.
Huff, huff.
Another heavy panting sound came from outside the door.
It was the round-faced boy, clenching his fists, panting heavily, blocking the girl.
"Hermione, be careful."
"He killed someone! I heard it with my own ears!"
Basil raised an eyebrow, patted Ron's shoulder, and gestured for him to move aside.
[Immobulus]
With a gentle flick of his finger, the power of the full-body binding charm froze the round-faced boy in place.
He walked directly in front of the girl and examined her face carefully.
"So you're Hermione!"
"But you don't look like Emma at all."
"But, you're quite cute."
He regretted not paying closer attention to his 'friends'' names when 'making friends'.
Hermione's [Echo] was also a good thing.
This was his destiny.
Much better than Harry and Ron's [Echoes].
The beaver girl glared back at the boy, unwilling to be outdone.
A blush gradually spread across her face.
"You really haven't been out?"
Who was Neville?
Hermione stated she didn't know him.
