After offering a brief moment of silence for Harry, Basil walked to the window. As he admired his Hogwarts, he sank his mind into his thoughts and began dealing with something he had forgotten last night—checking his friends' data.

Especially Hermione's and the others'.

He opened Ron's first.

For a moment, Basil was overwhelmed by the urge to complain.

A wizard's Magic Power usually ranged from 3 to 7.

Most lower-year wizards hovered around 3 to 5, while upper-year students ranged from 4 to 7.

This Magic Power is already higher than some pathetic upper-year students'!

Ridiculous. The Weasley family really can breed, huh!

He casually tapped on the Weasley twins' portraits. ? Why do the two of them also have Alchemy Mastery as a talent?

Could there be hidden talents that don't show up?

Their Flourishing Family talent doesn't have the Weak label, though.

Next was Harry.

Without the Grimoire's bonus, I'm only at 7. Harry actually has 10!

But in the second movie, how did Draco Malfoy's spell get past Harry's 10 points of magic resistance?

Was it the malice behind the spell?

Spell Mastery?

In the books, spells are divided into seven types: Transfiguration, Charm, Jinx, Hex, Curse, Counter-spell, and Healing Spell.

Based on the wizard data I've compiled, the system divides spells into two categories: rational spells—Transfiguration—and emotional spells—Charms, Dark Magic, and White Magic.

The Dark Magic aspect of Harry's Spell Mastery probably came from Voldemort. James Potter was exceptionally good at Transfiguration. Most wizarding families have the Spell Mastery talent, and White Magic came from the Love Charm Lily planted on Harry through her sacrifice?

Then they fused together into the Spell Mastery talent?

No wonder Harry Potter spent all day slacking off with Ron in the movies without falling behind in his studies.

But the Potter family created several potions recipes, yet their Potions Mastery talent had dwindled to merely Weak through inheritance?

No wonder their descendants never delved deeply into potions.

What about Neville? He could be considered the second Chosen One from the prophecy.

He opened Neville's portrait.

So he's a magical boy with a little round face, huh.

His Magic Power is so high, yet his performance is that poor?

Just like the books said, Magic Power requirements are only hardware. Willpower, verbal fluency, and the accuracy of wand movements—the software—are all indispensable.

He really is the Gryffindor Sword Saint. His ancestors were probably knights.

Let's look at Hagrid.

What a tank. Magic Power 7? His magical talent is that good?

Hmm, but perhaps that's because of his age. A wizard's Magic Power increases with age. The 3–7 Magic Power data I came up with before was all sampled from students.

Let's take a look at Hermione's. Sorcery Doctor is so absurdly overpowered.

Note: First Generation Wizards are magic's favored children. Their study of spells is not limited by Magic Power values. The difficulty of getting started depends on their own logic, intelligence, and willpower.

First Generation Wizard? Taken literally, that means the first generation of wizards.

So, unlike the settings in most fanfiction, wizards weren't born from mating with Fantastic Beasts?

Were people like Hermione the original rough gemstones, passed down through the ages?

Ridiculous. I thought First Generation Wizards were supposed to be incredibly awesome!

Then again, Hermione is so formidable because she's a know-it-all.

Magic Power value limits? Could it be that the spells corresponding to certain high-consumption Spell Cards can't even be learned if your Magic Power is too low?

Hermione and Neville are complete opposites. One lacks hardware, while the other lacks software. But Hermione's Master of All Magic trait, brought by being a First Generation Wizard, made up for the hardware issue. Even with insufficient Magic Power, she could get started, and she could cast spells with high Magic Power requirements. It was just that they would be weaker than when cast by wizards who normally met the requirements.

Still, based on the Grimoire panel, none of the spells I've learned so far consume more than 4 Magic Power. Hermione already has enough.

These characters with high importance in the world's eyes really do have more interesting panels than the background characters whose data I gathered at the train station.

When can I become friends with Dumbledore? I really want to see his data.

Basil sighed inwardly.

But Ron's voice came from behind him.

"Basil?"

That brought Basil's work time to an end.

He had originally planned to spend 5,000 gems to create and inspect the echoes of Harry, Ron, Neville, Hagrid, and Draco Malfoy.

Basil stretched and turned around.

Ron rubbed his eyes as he climbed out of bed. "Is Harry up too? Or did he not come back all night?"

At the same time, his other hand familiarly stroked Scabbers's fat belly.

Basil's eyes lit up.

Scabbers! Peter Pettigrew!

He only had a little over ten thousand gems right now.

Creating Harry and the others' echoes would cost nearly half of that.

If Peter Pettigrew's identity were exposed...

Sirius could get out of prison early?

That would be worth at least several thousand!

Even tens of thousands wasn't impossible!

After all, it was Peter Pettigrew who found Voldemort and enabled his later rise to power!

"Don't look at my rat!" Ron stuffed Scabbers into his pocket. "I fed Fanta for you last night, together with Hedwig!"

"Hey!" Basil became agitated.

Fanta was his brother, his family who had grown up with him.

"Animals that form contracts with wizards possess human-like intelligence to some extent, other than being unable to speak. Because of their own magical aura, they treat other wizard pets more like members of their own kind."

"The same was true even for natural enemies like cats and rats."

Ron still cast a wary glance at Fanta, who was dozing in the open cage. "But your owl isn't like that."

"I only just found out that owls eat rats too. I thought they only ate nuts!"

"Yesterday, after I dug out the dried rats you mentioned, both Fanta and Hedwig's eyes turned green."

"Scabbers must have been terrified too."

"That's because—" Basil had no idea how to explain it.

Could he say that his owl Fanta had Thunderbird blood, that wizard pets with Magical Creature bloodlines were smarter and could tell Scabbers was human? That because Scabbers was human, he and Ron had no actual contract, and Ron would still get fat if he ate too much?

He could only glare at Ron irritably and say casually, "Harry's and mine are Snowy Owls. Aside from their lifespan advantage—compared to the three-to-five-year lifespan of smaller owls, they can live for over twenty years, with a maximum lifespan of thirty-five—they have another trait. Their staple food is rats, and they only eat furry rats."
