In a sense, Basil could be considered the richest man in the Wizarding World.
Gringotts had been lit up in his mind.
Though this wealth was not recognized at Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes.
He could transfer Galleons and treasures from vaults registered under other people's names into his own account.
Just as he could now easily take the Horcrux, Hufflepuff's Cup, from the Lestrange family vault.
He could also empty the Malfoy family vault with a single thought.
But unfortunately, he could not do that yet.
The reason so many wizards deposited money at Gringotts was its security and integrity. Even if an entire family was imprisoned, the Ministry of Magic could not touch the money in their vaults and could only confiscate property registered in their names.
It was much better to take what he needed and let it flow steadily.
And no one would notice.
After all, Death Eater families like the Lestranges had all been sent to prison.
The goblins only inventoried things once every few decades.
But if he really emptied the Death Eaters' vaults all at once—
That would just be a one-shot deal.
Other wizards would no longer feel safe storing their gold at Gringotts.
Voldemort might even realize that the secret of his Horcruxes had been exposed and that their locations were no longer safe, prompting him to move them.
In that case, unless Basil learned some magic in another world that could use one Horcrux to locate the others—
Even if he could solo Voldemort, he would still be harassed by that shameless scum who bullied youngsters and murdered babies.
There was one more regrettable thing: the Ukrainian Ironbelly guarding the lowest vaults, the largest of all dragons, was blind.
Otherwise, it could have been made into a card.
