By the time Luo Chuan returned to his room to get ready for bed, more than two hours had passed.
With the system's help, after spending all that time, Luo Chuan had finally compressed hundreds of hours of footage—not counting the repeated takes—into roughly two and a half hours. Just now, Yao Ziyan had insisted on dragging him through the entire film from beginning to end.
Sure enough, the girl's mood had been successfully affected. She remained downcast right up until Luo Chuan left.
"It's this late already."
Luo Chuan threw himself onto the bed and stared at the snow-white ceiling, his thoughts drifting who knew where.
After a long while, Luo Chuan seemed to recall something and raised a hand to knock on his head.
"Hey, System."
"What does the boss need?"
The system's response was as swift as ever. It seemed to have no concept of rest, remaining online at all times, waiting for Luo Chuan, its "master"... Well, its boss, waiting for the boss to speak.
"The movie counts as finished now, right?" Before the system could answer, Luo Chuan added, "The soundtrack and all that don't count. It can be officially screened even without them. That's just my own compulsive perfectionism."
The system fell silent for several seconds, presumably considering the reasonableness of Luo Chuan's words. Then Luo Chuan suddenly heard a "ding" sound ring out in his mind.
"Task completed. Please claim your reward yourself."
Luo Chuan: "..."
So what exactly was with that sound, identical to a microwave timer ending? Why did the system always add such bizarre settings in utterly pointless places?
Luo Chuan sat up, deciding not to dwell on it for now.
He opened his personal Information Panel, ignored the irrelevant details, and moved his gaze straight to the task section
