Sizzle~
Above the Dome, Bio-plasma Cannon blasts struck the defensive field, bursting like fireworks.
Countless bio-ships of the roaming Tyranid swarms surged toward them, filling everyone's vision. Enraged, they wanted to tear this enormous flagship apart.
"The Dreamer's defensive field should hold, shouldn't it?"
Kryfis grew nervous. From his perspective, the entire ship seemed to pitch and roll in an ocean of Tyranid swarms, liable to be swallowed at any moment.
Fear welled up inside him. Space bugs had left him with far too many scars.
Yet when he turned to look around, all the Imperial elites stood in formation just as before, as though the terrifying swarms outside did not exist.
They were utterly fearless.
Kryfis and his bodyguards lowered their heads in shame. Their resolve fell short of these Imperial elites'.
"Don't worry. This is the safest part. The real battle hasn't started yet."
Ron patted the Federation marshal's shoulder reassuringly. He understood the man's fear.
After all, they were charging into the Tyranid swarms with a small fleet. Even with elite forces, it looked risky.
Back when the Imperium had yet to grow powerful, people had feared the swarms just as much.
So much so that whenever a Tyranid fleet approached, the Imperial leadership had no confidence at all, much less the courage to fight it. Instead, they sent the Adeptus Custodes to destroy planets along its route, creating a vast buffer zone in the hope that the swarms would change course and go elsewhere rather than threaten Terra.
But things were different now. The Imperium no longer feared the swarms. Instead, it considered how to defeat this powerful enemy and squeeze more profit out of them.
Right now, for instance, the Dreamer was charging toward the Tendril Swarm under the Imperial Fleet's protection, meeting it head-on.
