Giant Mutant

When the giant mutant appeared, everyone sucked in a cold breath.

It was a humanoid monster nearly three meters tall, its muscles knotted, every solid mass as hard as rock.

With each breath it took, the muscles across its body wriggled like living things. Every contraction and relaxation gave off a suffocating sense of pressure.

It was the very embodiment of violence, as if it would tear everything apart!

The giant mutant fixed its blood-red eyes on the people in the position, a savage grin spreading across its bloody mouth.

Mutilated mutant limbs fell from its mouth, hitting the ground with a slap and splashing blood.

Thud!

A grenade flew over, struck its hard muscles, then rolled to its feet.

It lowered its head to look.

Boom! The grenade exploded.

Roar! Roar! Roar!

The explosion thoroughly enraged the giant mutant. It brushed the metal fragments off its body and roared at everyone.

The frozen atmosphere shattered as the soldiers pulled their triggers, streams of fire shooting toward the giant mutant.

"Attack! Blow this piece of trash to hell!"

One-Eye Ari roared wildly. The Heavy Machine Gun in his hands spat blazing fire as its ammunition belt rapidly dwindled.

The ejected casings fell to the ground, nearly piling into a small mountain.

Beside him, Kais spat out a grenade's pull ring, emerged from the fortification with a rocket launcher on his shoulder, and fired a rocket at the giant mutant.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Shells from the self-propelled artillery crashed down one after another, detonating into blazing bursts of fire.

The intense barrage completely covered everything within five meters of the giant mutant.

Thick smoke and dust rose up, utterly obscuring their vision.

The Heavy Machine Gun ran dry. Ari tossed it aside and raised a shotgun, staring intently at the cloud of smoke.

"Do you think that thing's dead?"

He asked Kais beside him, but received no response.

When he turned his head, Kais had already vanished.

"Crafty bastard, where did he run off to this time?"

Ari muttered a curse, then turned his attention back to the smoke.

Suddenly, a massive chunk of concrete flew out of the smoke and smashed the roaring self-propelled artillery to pieces.

Boom!

A colossal black shadow leaped high into the air before crashing down in front of the position.

As the smoke dispersed, the giant mutant's body emerged. The muscles across its body wriggled and contracted, radiating immense pressure.

It stared fixedly at the tiny figure below, pulling its lips apart to reveal bloodstained white teeth.

A violent fury brewed within it. It was going to kill this little insect before it!

The giant mutant's shadow completely engulfed Ari. Faced with such malice, his entire body froze.

Under his intense emotions, his mechanical eye turned an even deeper crimson.

Ari took a deep breath and gripped his shotgun tightly, speaking in a voice only he could hear. "I am Undying Ari. I fear nothing. I am undying..."

Courage overcame fear, and control returned to his body.

"Die, trash!"

As his resolve hardened, Ari suddenly raised the shotgun and fired at the giant mutant's eye.

Then the enraged giant mutant sent him flying with a sweep, smashing him viciously into a distant fortification.

Ari suffered a heavy impact and hit the ground, violently coughing up blood.

When he raised his head, the giant mutant had already charged after him, raising its arm high and swearing to smash this little insect into pulp.

However, a shell flew over in time and struck the giant mutant's back, drawing its attention away.

Roaring, it charged toward the self-propelled artillery and brought down its massive fist.

In just a few strikes, it smashed the self-propelled artillery apart.

Yet this still failed to quell the giant mutant's fury. It turned and charged at the soldiers.

For a time, the entire position was filled with screams.

Brave soldiers were smashed apart, torn to pieces, and devoured.

Even heavy infantry clad in shell armor seemed to be made of paper beneath such ferocious attacks.

This enemy was simply too terrifying!

But the soldiers did not flee. Instead, they roared and continued attacking.

Their homeland was behind them. No one was willing to become a deserter!

The soldiers under Undying Ari were always the bravest and most fearless—except for Kais!

Ari climbed to his feet and watched the young men he had lived alongside day and night die before his eyes, one after another.

Boundless fury surged into his heart, and his mechanical eye blazed fiercely crimson.

He drew his Chainsword and charged straight at the giant mutant.

Fight! Fight! Fight!

Undying Ari was forever charging forward, bringing death to his enemies!

Using the fortifications, Ari leaped onto the giant mutant's back. His mechanical arm dug fiercely into its flesh as he climbed upward, straight toward its head.

"For The Emperor!"

He roared and viciously drove the Chainsword into the back of its head, sending flesh and blood spraying.

The agonizing pain made the giant mutant howl as it violently slapped and shook its head.

Ari's mechanical arm stabbed deeply into its flesh, gripping it tightly and refusing to let go.

He clenched the Chainsword, activated it at maximum power, and continued cutting deeper!

Bzzzt!

A huge, thick arm grabbed him, clenched around Ari, and yanked him down with savage force.

Ari was caught in the giant mutant's grip. His mechanical arm snapped, black engine oil flowing from it.

But he still did not give up. He still had a grenade!

This would be his final attack!

But as Ari struggled to reach for the grenade with his remaining hand, he found nothing there.

The grenade was gone!

As the giant mutant's palm tightened, he no longer had the strength to resist.

The several-ton grip would slowly crush him flat!

Was he, Undying Ari, going to die this time?

That was what remained of Ari's consciousness thought.

Just as he closed his eyes and prepared to welcome death—

Bang!

A tremendous impact rang out. Ari felt himself fly through the air before crashing onto the ground.

"One-Eye! One-Eye!"

It seemed someone was calling him?

I'm not dead?

He fought down the dizziness and opened his eyes.

Everything before him was blood-red.

Ari raised a hand and wiped the blood from around his eyes. This time, he saw clearly.

It was that crafty brat Kais!

Just moments ago, Kais had driven a heavy mining truck straight into the giant mutant, slamming it against the iron wall of the transport pipeline.

Ari had been saved as a result, flung from the monster's hand onto the ground.

"Crafty bastard, you always show up at times like this!"

Ari's lips curled upward. He could feel the strength draining from his body, and all he wanted was to lie down and rest for a while.

"Run, One-Eye!"

Kais scrambled down from the heavy mining truck and sprinted to Ari's side. "If we don't run now, we're dead!"

Seeing that Ari was still dazed, Kais apologized and delivered a vicious slap across his face.

"What are you doing?" Ari snapped awake and glared with his single eye.

"It's about to blow! Run if you don't want to get blown to bits!"

"Damn it, give me a hand!"

Kais pulled Ari to his feet. The two lowered their heads and sprinted forward, warning the other soldiers at the same time, "Spread out! It's dangerous!"

They had not run far when the giant mutant, knocked down by the heavy mining truck, began struggling violently behind them.

Fuel spilled across the ground.

It abruptly lifted the heavy mining truck, only to see a pile of cluster mines in the cab.

BOOM!!!

The cluster mines detonated, and flames ignited by the fuel engulfed the giant mutant.

The shock wave from the explosion spread outward, knocking the fleeing Ari and Kais to the ground.

Ari climbed back up and spat the dust from his mouth. "That killed it for good, right?"
