The Governor's Nightlife Was Quite Colorful

"Sir?"

Bayev looked at Ron with some concern.

After awakening his Psyker Power, Ron's senses had become much sharper.

He immediately noticed something unusual about him. This steward had probably sensed something.

"I'm not seriously hurt." Ron directly revealed the truth. "If I hadn't awakened Psyker Power, I probably would've died at the hands of those heretics."

Although the memories he had inherited were incomplete, he at least had the memories of this steward and the Praetorian Guards.

Their sole purpose was to protect Ron, the last bloodline of Grant House. Their Loyalty was absolute.

These people were Ron's final safeguard. There was no need to deceive them.

Upon hearing Ron's answer, Bayev was instead relieved.

"The God-Emperor protects us. It's good that you're unharmed!"

He then continued.

"Tonight's attack was premeditated. Someone used heretical monsters to draw away the Praetorian Guard, which was how you ended up in danger!"

Was it internal conflict, or an assassination by hostile forces?

The fog surrounding his memories left Ron completely clueless. This was clearly a very dangerous situation.

He looked at Bayev and asked, "Who do you think it was?"

"I've already sent people to investigate. It must have been that damned Homan House."

Bayev was indignant. "A bunch of treacherous bastards. The God-Emperor will punish them!"

Ron tried hard to recall, but he still couldn't remember anything about Homan House. Forget it. He could slowly learn about them later.

He nodded along. "The God-Emperor will punish them!"

Ron accepted the Apothecary's examination. The result was that aside from some weakness, he was unharmed.

Only after confirming that the Governor was all right did Bayev and the others finally leave in relief.

This room was no longer fit for sleeping. Led by the maids, Ron entered another equally spacious bedroom.

Ron pushed open the floor-to-ceiling window and stepped onto the balcony, gazing at the pale red moon in space as he let out a long sigh.

This was no longer Earth. It was not even the universe he had known.

The moon of this planet appeared to have been bombarded by some weapon. A small piece was missing, and the fragments around it had formed a long, narrow asteroid belt.

The sight before him undoubtedly reminded Ron of the cruelty of the Warhammer world.

Whether fighting Xenos, the Chaos Gods, or civil wars, every conflict would kill countless people. Even entire planets would collapse and perish one after another.

Even as a planetary Governor, Ron did not dare guarantee that he could rest easy.

Still, as the planetary Governor and the most distinguished person on this world, he was far better off than the workers in the Lower Hive who toiled day and night, or the scavengers in the Underhive who picked through garbage and pollutants.

He lived in Spire Mansion within the Palatine District of the Hive City's Upper Hive, enjoying the finest resources as he looked down upon the masses below.

Ron looked toward the Grand Plaza of the nearby Palatine District. The plaza's lights were dim, its surface riddled with potholes, and the towering God-Emperor Statue seemed to be missing a piece.

The lights in the distant residential districts were even worse. Vast areas had gone dark, leaving only scattered points of light visible.

Ron was somewhat surprised. The infrastructure was truly terrible. He would have to find an opportunity to renovate it.

As the face of the planet, the Palatine District could not be allowed to look so shabby.

Suddenly, faint flashes erupted from the distant residential district. With a Psyker's sharp intuition, Ron realized they were flashes from Bolt fire.

Someone was in a firefight!

"Public security in the Upper Hive is this bad too?"

Ron was puzzled. The Upper Hive was where nobles and officials lived. Security should not have been this poor.

Were the Enforcers all being paid to do nothing?

"The Enforcer force needs a serious disciplinary overhaul!"

Since he had inherited everything belonging to Ron Grant, his fate was inseparably tied to this planet's. He had to protect and develop it properly.

At the very least, he needed to strengthen security in the Upper Hive and maintain order, lest followers of the Dark Gods or heretics storm the Palatine District one day and kill him.

Ron felt that something about this place was wrong, but he could not say what it was.

Was it discomfort caused by his missing memories?

As he pondered this, Ron realized that the mysterious existence in the Warp was calling to him more strongly than before.

At the same time, he felt deeply exhausted.

It seemed he had to rest. Mental exhaustion made one vulnerable to Chaos corruption.

Ron turned and walked back into the bedroom. Head Maid Linda had already led the other maids in preparing it.

These black-stockinged maids had all been cultivated from childhood and carefully selected by Grant House. Their figures and appearances were all top-tier.

They stood in a line and bowed to Ron. "Sir, you may rest now."

"Mm. You've worked hard."

Ron nodded and waved, preparing to dismiss them.

But to his surprise, the maids' eyes lit up as they surrounded him, stripped him completely naked, and wiped down his body with warm, comfortable towels.

Was this part of the process too?

Ron did not really understand, nor did he dare resist, lest anyone notice something unusual.

Damn ruler of another world!

The maids looked at Ron with desire in their eyes, occasionally touching him here and there. It was torturous.

The situation was nearly spiraling out of control, but fortunately, Ron was no ordinary person.

He had escaped the Palace of Slaanesh. He could withstand such a small scene!

Only after the maids changed him into sleepwear did Ron finally let out a breath of relief.

For some reason, he vaguely felt that the maids had been overly enthusiastic.

Linda looked at Ron, her heart pounding wildly as her legs involuntarily pressed together. Why is Sir different now? He's so charming!

Ron's charm had indeed increased. It was a lingering consequence of being noticed by Slaanesh.

After worshipping Slaanesh, a follower's personal charm would steadily grow, especially their extraordinary attraction toward the opposite sex.

This was one of the baits Slaanesh offered.

But as their faith deepened, followers of Slaanesh would gradually mutate, lose themselves in desire, and become monsters neither human nor ghost.

Yet Ron had resisted corruption and escaped alive, while that charm remained.

With his current looks and charm, not many women could withstand him. Linda was one such example.

Seeing the Head Maid staring at him so intently, Ron could not help but ask in surprise, "What is it?"

Under Ron's gaze, Linda pressed her legs together even tighter. Her eyes were moist enough to overflow. "Sir, I usually accompany you when you rest. You said you sleep better that way!"

"Is that so?"

"Mm. You said I smell nice, and that you can only fall asleep while holding me."

Ron looked over the Head Maid, whose pure yet seductive appearance and impressive assets were impossible to ignore, and involuntarily swallowed.

Sleep better? Who was she trying to fool?

Once she got into bed, who could possibly sleep? Would there even be any sleeping left to do?

When Ron said nothing, Linda hugged her chest and stammered, her face turning red.

She glanced at the other maids. "If you think there aren't enough people, everyone can come too..."

The maids in the distance were flushed red, staring at Ron with wide, watery eyes.

Damn... was the Governor's nightlife really this rich?

Ron Grant really knew how to have fun. No wonder he had been dragged off to Slaanesh!

But unfortunately, I'm not Ron Grant. I'm an upright gentleman!

Besides, he had only just escaped the Palace of Slaanesh. How could he dare mess around?

"Go, go, go! All of you, get out!" Ron was firm.

"Yes, Sir!"

The Governor's rejection left Linda dejected. She lowered her head and gave a deep bow.

A flash of white nearly blinded Ron, making him suck in another breath of cold air.

Linda turned and left. Ron watched her soft figure wrapped in her maid uniform, feeling somewhat reluctant to see her go.

Sigh. Slaanesh really hadn't misjudged me...

At this rate, I'll have to visit that bastard's palace again sooner or later...

Late at night, Ron lay down on the bed and fell into a deep sleep.

Suddenly, something violently yanked at his consciousness. When he came to, he discovered that he had returned to the Warp.

Once again, he saw the enormous Cold Sun in the endless Void.

Ron found it strange. Had the God-Emperor come to visit him in a dream?
