He realized that all his past experience had completely failed him, as if he were an ancient man left behind by the age.
He simply could not imagine what the New Imperium, what The Savior, might do next—or what bizarre thing he might pull out this time.
After reaching the surface, Dorn joyfully found the entrance to the ancient underground catacombs.
But he soon discovered, to his sorrow, that the old stone-slab doorway had become nothing more than a display piece for visitors to look at.
And there he had been, fiddling with it for ages like an idiot.
Only afterward did Dorn finally learn that The Savior had not only transformed Terra's surface on a grand scale, turning it into a garden world, but had also, in the name of safety, dug up the ancient underground tunnel networks and ruins that had accumulated over countless eras and spread across entire continents like a beehive, all for research.
And then he had filled the abandoned shafts with high-strength concrete.
Was that something a human would do?!
It was practically no different from turning all of Terra inside out. The amount of work involved was terrifying, but that bastard had done it anyway.
As for the population affected by the demolition project, they had all been relocated to other civilized worlds and compensated with an increase in citizenship rank.
Not only that, the bastard had even uprooted the Terra Court wholesale. What remained were basically only planetary defense forces and maintenance personnel.
In other words, the heart of the Imperium had been completely turned into a tourist Holy Land, filled everywhere with beautiful natural Galaxy scenery and Sanctuary ruins.
This had a massive impact on Dorn's infiltration. The underground network had been dug out, the Hive Cities were
