Sasuke ordered a lot of meat in the private room. Mizuki's words had put Naruto in a great mood, and he wolfed down the barbecue as he said, "Sasuke, your barbecue restaurant is amazing."
"Heh heh. Actually, when I was little, my dream wasn't to become a powerful ninja. It was to own a barbecue restaurant." He was talking about his dream from his previous life.
"Huh? Why would you have such a weird idea?" Naruto asked, unable to understand.
"If you had a genius Brother, you'd have the same thoughts as me. But now, everything has changed." Sasuke sighed, then asked, "By the way, why are you suddenly in such a good mood?"
"Heh heh, I can graduate now." Naruto could never keep a secret to himself. Before Sasuke could ask for details, he spilled everything.
"The Scroll of Seals? What is that? Why won't they let us study it? That's so strange!" Sasuke genuinely did not know about the Scroll of Seals. After all, school teachers would never teach such things, and ordinary ninja did not know about it either, so it was necessary for him to put on an act.
"I don't know, but as long as I can graduate, it's fine. Are you going tonight?" Naruto asked. The current Sasuke was not cold at all and could talk to anyone, Naruto included, so Naruto considered him a friend.
"Fine. I have nothing better to do anyway, so I'll keep watch for you. But why did Mizuki tell you instead of Iruka-sensei? He isn't even our class teacher. And why was he at the exam site?"
"Why worry about all that? We'll act together tonight. Let me graduate first."
"Fine. Then hurry up and eat." The two of them devoured the barbecue, then got up and left. Sasuke was the owner, after all. The barbecue restaurant had made him quite a bit of money over the past few years, and the employees' benefits had been raised once again.
Night came quickly. Following the information Mizuki had given him, Naruto found where the Scroll of Seals was stored. Seriously, how could Naruto possibly get his hands on the Scroll of Seals? It made no logical sense. Or perhaps Konoha had long noticed that Mizuki was suspicious and deliberately used Naruto to lure him out. But none of that mattered. As long as Sasuke could see the Water Style Ninjutsu, he could rely on his powerful memory to memorize every technique.
"Sasuke, hurry!" Naruto ran out openly with the enormous Scroll of Seals in his arms, shouting for Sasuke to run. Yet not a single pursuer appeared. This was way too fake.
"Something's wrong, isn't it? You just carried out a Scroll of Seals that huge? No one stopped you?" Sasuke asked as they ran.
"There wasn't anyone guarding it. Just looking at it, this thing clearly isn't important. Iruka-sensei, honestly... why didn't he teach us the techniques on it?"
"Stop talking. You couldn't even learn the Clone Technique after six years. You still want to learn other ninjutsu?" Sasuke could not help mocking him.
"That's different! I'm a man who'll become Hokage. Only profound ninjutsu can match my status!" Naruto shouted.
"Fine, future Hokage. Where are we running to?" Sasuke was powerless to argue with him. They should hurry up and look through the Scroll of Seals.
"Look, there's a house by the front gate. No one usually comes here, so we'll use this place." Naruto reached the house and opened the Scroll of Seals. Sasuke did not look particularly excited, merely staring at it with curiosity. The first technique was indeed the Multiple Shadow Clone Technique.
"Huh? Why is it the Clone Technique again? That's what I'm worst at!" Naruto wailed.
"Just learn it. This is fate. Hurry up and practice. Let me see what else is in here." Sasuke continued unrolling the scroll.
"You're not learning?" Naruto asked curiously. "I already graduated." Naruto was instantly defeated and went off to learn the Multiple Shadow Clone Technique. Sasuke, meanwhile, looked further down the scroll with interest. Sure enough, they were all A-rank or higher techniques. The Second Hokage's Water Style Ninjutsu was comprehensive. Sasuke read every word without missing a single one, only stopping when he reached the First Hokage's techniques. He should forget about Wood Style Ninjutsu. He had no hope of learning it. Mastering what he needed first was the priority.
"These techniques are so advanced. The two of us can probably only learn the first one. But why is a scroll with so many high-level techniques left unguarded?" Sasuke said. Hokage, are you trying to fool children?
The Hokage felt awkward. He had heard Sasuke's words and had not expected him to come along. Sasuke was not as easy to fool as Naruto.
"Forget it. I've already learned the first technique. How about that? Impressive, right?" Naruto shouted happily.
"Really? Let me see. Oh, it's simple enough. Multiple Shadow Clone Technique." Sasuke took one look and immediately used it, producing more than a dozen Sasukes at once. He then released the technique. It felt rather wonderful.
"No way! Was it really that easy? Why did you learn it right away? I looked at it for so long." Naruto began practicing as well, but his progress was much slower. Sasuke had no interest in watching him and continued reading the scroll. There were also some advanced Fire Style techniques and several precious Lightning Style techniques. He could not afford to miss those.
"Haha, I did it!" A burst of noisy shouting came from a crowd of Narutos celebrating excitedly.
"You're too loud, Naruto. Release them, or you'll call the whole village over."
"Oh, did you see that? I made more clones than you." Naruto said smugly in front of Sasuke. Sasuke could not refute that. He did not have as much Chakra as Naruto. Why are you comparing yourself to me when you're using cheats? Have you no shame at all? I really want to spray salt soda all over your face.
"Yes, you're amazing. You made more than I did." Sasuke could only admit it helplessly. "All right, you can graduate now. Let's return this before someone finds out. Tomorrow, you can ask Iruka-sensei for a retest. I'll go with you."
"Thanks. Let's go." Just as Naruto picked up the scroll to leave, Iruka appeared. "What are you two doing here?"
"Huh? I found Iruka-sensei," Naruto said blankly. "No, I found you two. Naruto, Sasuke, why are you here?"
"Haha, Iruka-sensei, I've learned the ninjutsu here. Give me a retest tomorrow." Naruto said carelessly. Sasuke merely curled his lips and activated his Sharingan to observe the surroundings. He would not, like in the anime's plot, keep staring only behind Iruka. Instead, he monitored the entire area. His hands remained lowered at his waist, ready to reach the Ninja Tool Pouches on his back and legs at any time.
"You learned the techniques on it? You want a retest? Who told you about this?" Iruka sensed that something was wrong.
"Mizuki-sensei said that if I learned the techniques here, I could graduate. Iruka-sensei, why didn't you teach me sooner? I'm..." Before Naruto could finish, Iruka suddenly lunged forward and tackled him to the ground.
