Background / History

Wang Mingren was born to Wang Yaolong and Ye Li. At age five, testing revealed Gold-and-Fire Dual Spiritual Roots. The Wang Family regarded his aptitude as exceptional, decided to nurture him for entry into an immortal sect, and placed him under Wang Changsheng's personal instruction in cultivation and artifact refinement. He studied diligently and gradually adjusted to living away from his parents. 277

He entered the Taiyi Immortal Sect after earning admission through the sect's arrangement following Chen Qingshu's death. Xu Zihua accepted him as a disciple and supplied him with extra cultivation resources, helping him reach the Ninth Layer of Qi Refining within roughly a decade. 312 359

After reaching Foundation Establishment, Wang Mingren cultivated and travelled extensively as a Taiyi disciple. He returned home after many years to deliver resources and messages from Wang Changfeng and Wang Mingjiang, while also showing concern for his parents. 375 His combat achievements earned him access to the Taiyi Secret Realm, and he continued to advance through the Foundation Establishment Realm. 458 594

Wang Mingren initially concentrated on personal advancement, especially his ambition to become one of the Five Heroes of Taiyi. He sought Wang Changsheng and Wang Ruyan's support in pursuing wanted Heretical Cultivators for the merit needed to form his Core. 632 He later accepted a marriage alliance with Chen Xiang'er, Chen Haibin's granddaughter, despite having feelings for Ximen Feng, believing the alliance would strengthen his prospects. 664

Ximen Feng's willingness to take a potentially fatal blow for him profoundly changed his priorities. Wang Mingren resigned from his Fire Crow Market post and transferred to the South Sea to earn the Contribution Points needed for a Snow Jade Pill that could treat her Corpse Fiend Qi. 900 901

After forming his Core, he learned of the Wang Family's rapid rise and began actively repairing his ties with the clan. He offered to recommend relatives to Taiyi Immortal Sect, helped the family establish businesses in the Northern Frontier, and used his connections to support its expansion. 953 954 965

He divorced Chen Xiang'er and married Ximen Feng on Silver Serpent Island, with Wang Changsheng and Wang Ruyan serving as witnesses. 985 However, his former marriage and lifelong pursuit of status remained sources of guilt and inner conflict.

Following years trapped in the Spiritless Land within Violet Fire Abyss, Wang Mingren reflected deeply on his life and resolved to value those who loved and cared for him. 1184 He later attempted reconciliation with Chen Xiang'er, admitting that he had wronged her, but she rejected his apology. 1269

Personality

Wang Mingren was socially skilled, generous, and attentive to interpersonal obligations. Under Xu Zihua's guidance, he sent gifts for fellow disciples' celebrations and misfortunes, cultivated relationships across the Taiyi Immortal Sect, and gained a reputation as someone whose cooperation brought benefits rather than losses. 594

His social grace was initially inseparable from ambition and calculation. He habitually evaluated gains and losses, cultivated powerful connections, and sought the status and resources attached to becoming one of the Five Heroes of Taiyi. 901 1108 His clan later viewed his renewed warmth with caution, believing that the Wang Family's growing strength had motivated him to draw closer. 953 954

Ximen Feng's sacrifice and his confinement in Violet Fire Abyss exposed the limits of this worldview. He came to regret treating relationships as transactions and recognized that his excessive selfishness had damaged his Dao heart. 901 1184 1313
